Yeah, that's pretty messed up. It annoys me when people say that fathers "babysit" their kids. I mean, the kids are just as much theirs as they are the mother's. It seems like (and I'm terribly generalizing here) that men often want the Kodak moments but don't wish to do the grunt work that's expected of women.

Luckily H is the one pushing me to go out. He knows I need it.

I'm pretty sure I won't e an actual aunt for quite a while. Out of my 3 sisters I only see 2 of them having kids. A is 20 and way too into school and working and doesn't have a BF. B is 13 so hopefully she won't have kids for a while.

I'm an adopted aunt to a coworkers 2 kids since they have very little family up here.

Daff, also don't stress too much about it. You do live 5 hrs away right? It's not like you're going to be around all the time being expected to change the baby or hold the baby while your sister gets a bottle ready or something.

My aunt & uncle got married a month before I was born and never were the type to want to hold any of their nieces & nephews. They bought us gifts at Christmas (I think they did anyhow), but they never came to visit or spend time with us. I was 12 when they had their first child, and I just always thought growing up that they didn't want to have kids. It turns out, they just wanted to have the rest of their ducks in a row (house, $$ in the bank) before kids. Nobody (to my knowledge anyhow) ever questioned their disinterest in kids.

I have an uncle that I'm incredibly close with, and he admits he didn't like me as a kid. He doesn't like kids -- Him and my aunt never had kids. They are awesome and lots of fun!

the house is great! coming together slowly but, surely. just need some chairs for my kitchen table. i lost my job though, so furniture is on hold right now! and we need a bed frame. i also want a new couch, but that will wait.

i just got an email from the builders cause our 1 year is coming up and we do a walk thru with them for them to come in and repair anything that needs it. INSANE. i can't believe this time last year we were packing and getting ready to move in.
