Where did you find your perfect Bridesmaids Dresses?

I am having a tough time finding the perfect bridesmaids dresses for my girls. I really want them to be in full length dresses. I searched at Harolds already and found one that could work but it is very bridesmaidy.

My bridesmaids and I want to find find something that has accents whether it is beading, details, etc. I feel like all the bridesmaids dresses I have seen are very plain and the same.

Does anyone have any suggestions on places to look in CT?

Hmmm, I don't know about details like beading etc. or a store that would sell something like that, but I'm letting my girls choose their own dresses as long as it's the same designer/color (MOH full length, BM knee-length)...I chose Alfred Angelo, which is available at a lot of stores in CT

    Good luck!

Ugh- I feel your pain. This was my problem!! I thought all the one's we found were SUPER boring. I initally took one of my BM's to Macys, JCPennys, Nordstroms, and Lord and Taylor and Jessica McClintock. Then I took two of them again to Bridal Bells in Berlin, then Mariellas. We found CRAP at first.

I actually found a dress I loved at ModCloth.com. It's by Max and Cleo. I orded it and the girls loved it, but we were slow in deciding and they ran out. I also looked online at Bluefly.com and found a few I ordered- but didn't like. I FINALLY ended up returning the one from ModCloth because I went with my mom and brother back to Mariella's on my own and tired on tons more dresses. I ended up choosing this one.

It was a long process!!!! I actually stayed away from long dresses because that's not what I wanted. I feel like that's going to be harder to find a long one that's less boring- unless you do those fun "prom" dresses- have you seen those in stores? They are made with patterned material. Or you could always get a super plain one and order a really pretty sash.

Blip - just my 2 cents.. I think a lot of BM dresses are a little on the plainer side because they are supposed to compliment, not overshadow or compete with, the bride.

Initially I had my heart set on Belsoie L3002.  It's beautiful, with a criss-cross sweetheart neckline, crystal brooch, and flowy chiffon... but it looked like crap on my curvy girls.

This is the dress we ended up getting - it's plain but extremely elegant with the long sashes and short train, and most importantly, makes my girls look like a million bucks.

If you can't find any dresses with accents, you could always add a sparkly brooch to the side to give it a little more character!

    Thanks everyone!

I was thinking about finding a dress and then adding a sash or brooch on it.

    I think I might try Mariella's

Yeah- Mariella's had a ton. I'd watch the prices though. I found three I absolutely loved- but they were pretty expensive so I had to say no to them.  I don't agree that BM dresses should be boring- but I think a lot of companies do LOL. Jim Hjelm Occasions has amazing dresses at mariellas- but they were on the pricey side.

My BM's got their dresses at Classic Brides by Eva in Stratford, HUGE plus that all alterations are free.

My girls wore knee length but she has a huge selection of Alfred Angelo, Bill Levkoff, Bari Jay, and various other designers. HTH!

we went online and found a great dress by jim hjem...they have a ton.

Then we called bridal salons for the best price.

For the girls I am getting them all great necklaces from Ann Taylor actually, they have these amazing crazy necklaces that will really add punch to a plain black dress!

    Good luck!
