Thank You Gifts AFTER the Wedding?

Most everyone will get their thank you gifts the morning of the ceremony- almost all of them are already picked out and in my posession.

Howerver, FI's grandma is helping with a lot of the food and I wanted to do something  heartfelt that she'll really like. I am thinking about getting an engraved frame for her with a picture of her and her grandson FROM the wedding when they'll be all dressed up and snazzy (I stole him 900 miles away, and they're very close, but due to our move won't see each other much in the upcoming year). For obvious reasons, this requires that her gift not be ready before the wedding. How can I pull this off? Should we write her a thank you card and let her know that her gift is coming? I would also like to do one for my grandparents (of us 3), as my grandpa is giving me away. I just don't want anyone to feel left out!

  • I think it's good to write them a heartfelt note of thanks, and then either write or say that you are planning something special for them later on.

  • You can do gifts with each person individually and not as a group, and then maybe no one will notice they were left out.  Or give them a special card and just let them think it's their gift.
