I am torn because I really want to do this but I think it will be labor intensive and I know that not a lot of people eat green apples but I think it's soooo cute:

Other than that, I have a mirror with different sections on it and I will write each table with the names on it so no cards would be needed.

I liked the idea of using mini envelopes and cards for these. The person's name is on the envelope and the table is on the card inside. That way if there are any last minute table changes you just have to change the card inside! Kinda like this

I thought of pinning them onto a board with a faded map as the background. But now FI is talking about having personalized favors as escort cards. I don't fully understand his idea yet but he's been talking about an engraved glass.. paperweight is the only word I think of that would describe his idea. It would be engraved with the guest's name. Sounds pretty, but I don't know where he thinks we'll get the money for this.. lol. But according to him you can get something like that done just about anywhere for cheap. Haha..

We have vintage travel theme, so we're doing different destinations for table "numbers" using prints of old travel ads for each city. Then I'm thinking of doing a boarding pass with their destination on it for the escort card. I have the preliminary designs done but I'm still deciding if I want to do this or just something simpler.

We are using photo coasters that are also acting as our table favors. The name/meal preference will go in the photo slot, and I have business cards that I printed from Vista Print to put on the back thanking my guests for coming. My dad is making stands for them so they can be propped up on the table.

Lady324 this is the exact idea my mother and I came up with, it's alot less time consuming and easy for guests to find their seating. I have been to a few weddings where the card table is either huddled around or a long line has formed in the reception room. We will have our board in the cocktail room so that guests can know their seating before they enter the reception.

This is one of those projects where I'd love to do something really creative and pretty, but my budget is so stretched at this point. I'll probably use Vistaprint's free business cards and do something with those... maybe a ribbon board? I feel like this is something my guests will give the least sh*t about.

I like this idea a lot, as well. Just make sure that the writing is large and readable... the last wedding I went to they did this in such a small frame with tiny writing that it was almost impossible to find your name!

This couple did it for the table numbers so obviously ours will look a little different. We're getting married at a winery so I think it will fit.

I'm not sure what we are doing for the escort cards yet. I have this crazy idea of some sort of a game for the escort cards. Our wedding is kind of a "fun" theme - our table markers are pool bools (we met at pool league), we have cootie catchers (fortune tellers) for our favor that have fun to do's inside (we are making a donation to charity for each guest instead of favors), we have disposable scavenger hunt cameras on the tables.

we're doing natural wood discs (aka a tree branch cut into 1 in pieces hehe). Minus the bull rider...The person's name will be on a coloured circle and the colour will indicate the meal choice they selected in the r.s.v.p. with the table number on the other side

AH!! Thanks for this board. This is something I dont know either!

Im stumped on these and favors, I cant decide if im going to combine them or not, etc.

I love something like you did Carly, but with different backgrounds of scrapbook paper, my mom told me that it would look like a school project or a seating chart; "where she had to find her seat in a classroom." thats the idea- but with a reception hall. ugh.

Anyways, I want them to be different that whats usually done, but Im afraid that will be expensive, or time consuming.

I like the window idea, but nothing about my wedding is very vintage-y, i dont think it would fit very well with the decor.

Also- if anyone can come up with a way to incorporate the movie UP into a escort card/favor, please let me know. Ill owe you my undying appreciation.
