Another chat thread (evening)

I see some people are around and I'm lounging. I know that lately it's been all chat threads, but it's better than deadboard, right?

Re: Another chat thread (evening)

  • I'm here, squinting at my monitor for another 40 minutes.  Meeting a friend at a wine bar tonight for dinner - can't wait!

  • I am here. Just made a tasty supper and cheesecake for dessert, now watching the news.

H is counting down the hours now until Big Brother starts tomorrow. sigh.

I need to go water my garden in a bit, but not until 8. I have to watch the cosby show first.
  • I'm here for a bit. Waiting on a phone call before I can leave work and cleaning out my inbox.

If I don't get my phone call by 8 I'm out of here and off to dinner.
    image
  • I still love The Cosby Show. I also love A Different World but that's hard to find.

    Kate, you made cheesecake too?

  • Evening ladies,

I had the slowest day EVER, but it was all made better when I got home because my diplomas(!) and the sparklers for the wedding arrived in the mail.

I'm a business analyst/back office support in billing for an insurance company. We're in a transition period and this is temporary.

I'm content with 50 -60 hours and should be back at that in mid August/early September if all goes well.

  • Oh, I meant too as in addition to dinner.  :)  But cheesecakes are my speciality though I haven't made one in a while.

The only cheesecake ive ever made are mini cheesecakes, cause its easy. The idea of mucking about with a springform pan sorts scares me.
  • yeah I thought you might have meant that.

Diplomas Pills? Did you get multiple degrees?

I like keeping a tub of the pre made Cheesecake filling in the fridge so I can eat a finger full when I need a snack.

And now I want cheesecake. I am just lounging in bed, trying to decide if I want to watch a movie tonight or just zone out in front of the tv. Today wiped me out. I am really excited since I found out today that my dad got us the cookware set on our registry. I just mentioned really wanting it on here last night.

  • That show was genius. Love me some Cosby.

I'm cranky. I watched "Troy" last night. Brad Pitt was hot. Also, I hate Orlando Bloom.

[QUOTE]Hey All. I'm lounging around, doing some reading, waiting for H to make supper tonight. He's still in the pool though, so I imagine I'll be waiting for a while. The Cosby show is awesome. Since we're in the States, my H has decided to watch only Netflix while we're here- today was GI Joe all morning. I know lots of people think I'm crazy, but<strong> I really dislike cheesecake</strong>. More for the rest of you!

  • Ooh, I think you're in a tough area for delivery Mrs. J.  Any place that does will be the standard pizza and wing joints.

  • Good evening!  I am looking at house listings to tell our realtor which ones we are interested in seeing.  Hopefully we can go this weekend.

I feel like i haven't stopped to breathe in the past few weeks.  Starting a job, traveling for a wedding, starting house hunting, lots of social events.  But I prefer to be busy than bored, so I'm not complaining!

  • And now I want cheesecake. But I have none and I am entirely too lazy to drive 15 minutes to get it.
    image
  • Definitely La Casa Blanca.  I'll think of a few more and PM them to you later.  Gotta run right now though.  Night ladies.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Another chat thread (evening) : Like I said, more for the rest of you ;) I actually just generally don't like cream cheese, in almost anything. I don't like the texture of cheesecake, but will choke it down if I have to. Congratulations on earning your degrees! <strong>Do you have a teaching job lined up, or are you planning to do something different with your degrees?</strong>

</div><div>No, unfortunately. I've been applying and I've had three interviews thus far. I've been told that this is the largest pool of applicants they've (the surrounding counties) had in almost a decade. Bad news for me. It could also be late August or even early September until I get hired. Schools start here the day after labor day. That idea freaks me out because I'd have to throw together a classroom, lessons, etc on very short notice. </div><div>
</div><div>ETA: Thank you for the congrats :-)</div>

  • I'm here...still working, for some reason. It's going to be a 14-hr day, and I'm supposed to be reducing my stress and workload. Yeah, not happening, unfortunately. :(

Someone mentioned cheesecake. That's now dominating my mind. Mmmm....

What kinds of houses are you looking at?

If you don't mind, what area of NC? I'm in Winston, but originally from near Charlotte.

<div>It is exciting, but kind of scary too!  We want 3 to 4 bedrooms, 2+ bathrooms, and a bonus room for sure. Probably at least 2,000 sq feet.  We definitely want an open floor plan. I love that we can actually afford to get a house that meets all of that criteria here.  No way would it happen if we were still in DC. </div><div>

<div>Haha, I just answered Jesse on the first question :)  Right now we are in Johnston County (southeast of Raleigh), but we are looking to buy out in the western suburbs of Raleigh (Apex/Holly Springs/Cary)</div>

  • Nebb, I dunno what you are talking about with springform pans but this cheesecake was not any sort of complicated. Just mix things together and refrigerate.

Aaaand I have a virus on my new computer. Great. I can't download anything to fix it, maybe it will work tomorrow at work to do that. Otherwise I will have to call IT. UGH. My life is SO HARD. :)

    That's a nice area.
