Make up trial at MAC in Willowbrook...tipping question

I'm getting a makeup trial done this weekend at the MAC store in Willowbrook.  They charge $50 and give you stuff to take home after.  My question is do I have to tip them?  I'm thinking yes, but I have no idea how much.  Just the normal 20%?  Or less since it's just a trial?

    If they are making you buy products, I wouldn't tip.
    I've had makeup done at MAC a bunch of times -some stores require you to buy the items for $50, or sometimes less, sometimes they don't require you to buy anything. I've tipped the times they didn't require me to buy anything.

    I am going for a trial at the MAC counter in Macys in Jersey City and there is no charge. If I like it she will get a tip and I will buy something. If not, then nada from me!

    Just wanted to add, I believe that the girls working at the counters are working on commission, so if they require you to buy something, then they are making a commission from that sale.. therefore, IMO a tip would be unnecessary if I purchased something.

    The girls need to sell a certain amount of products per hour- so after you pay the 50 they will try to sell you other things. There is no need to tip them what they really want are more sales. If you tip them a 5, 10, or 20 you might have them miss out on making an extra 50 by selling you stuff.

    My MUA used to work at MAC in willowbrook.

    Thanks for the advice girls. Yea they do require you to buy 50$ of stuff for them to do your makeup, so I probably wont end up leaving a tip. If they do an awesome job I could always buy something extra. I wasn't aware that they can travel to your house the morning of your wedding. I will ask when I go and see how much they charge.

    Definitely let us know if they travel. That would definitely be a deciding factor for me.
