Hotels in LA

I'm stopping off in Los Angeles for our wedding night before we go on our Mexican Rivera cruise and I'm trying to find an affordable romantic hotel for that first blissful night! 
Any suggestions?!

    We stayed at The Omni, it's in DT LA and its beautiful.  I'm not sure how much it was because it was a gift but we really loved it. They welcomed us with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. We plan to go again for a special night ;)

    There are so many.  But here's a tip to save money, I used hotwire and clicked "4 star hotel in the West Hollywood" area and got the Sofitel which is a beautiful hotel.  And we saved like half price.  You can do the same for Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, etc.
    I actually googled "hotwire hotel list" and got a message board that told me what hotels I might end up getting in each part of the city so you can even narrow it down and figure out what hotel you might end up getting. 

    And then we called the Sofitel and told them it would be our wedding night and they put us in for a free upgrade if available!

    LA has so many great places....how are you getting to LA and then how are you getting back to the pier?
    Try the Marina International Hotel...or look for places in Long Beach. Even if you're leaving from San Pedro, it's close but might be more affordable than the convenient / romantic neighborhoods in and around LA.

    The crowne plaza redondo beach is a nice one too and its not too far from LAX
