Favorite movie scenes

Favorite movie scene - bonus points for link.

Mine is the scene from Enchanted, where Amy Adams and McDreamy dance at the King & Queen's ball, specifically the part near the middle where he starts to sing to her, and then he spins her around a bunch.  It makes me dance around my living room errytime I see it.

Oh McDreamy.  Just when I thought you couldn't get any hotter.

Also.  ALSO.  Colin Firth.  Pride & Prejudice.  The lake scene.  GOOD GOD, THE LAKE SCENE.

I have so many "favorite" movies it's hard to pick.  What I'm currently cracking up over is the "tuna vs. lion" scene from The Other Guys.

ETA: I've never seen Enchanted but I love McDreamy!

  • I love Enchanted. I have to watch it every time it's on. My aunt interviews McDreamy every year during his annual racing event. She has pictures with him and everything, and he even knows her by name when he sees her. Next year, I'm going with her whether I have a pass or not.

I think it was J&K who mentioned this last week, but the scene in The Fast & the Furious where Vin Diesel picks up Letty by the butt in the garage combined with Paul Walker getting ready for the raid.

The scene in the first Narnia where Lucy first walks into Narnia and experiences it for the first time.

The final scene in Fly Away Home where Amy flies over the hill with the geese and everyone cheers.

In Braveheart, when he looks out into the crowd and sees his wife, and everyone starts chanting Mercy!
  • Gladiator fight scene may be my favorite of all time:

-The scene in Stand By Me where the boys cross the railroad bridge.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWPz0-iYTTw

-The scene in Fried Green Tomatoes where they kill Ruth's ex-husband and then feed his remains to the weird sheriff guy. It was bizarre but memorable.

  • Twilight, when Jacob takes his shirt off for Bella's head after she crashes the motorcycle.  YEAH I SAID IT.

  • The bus scene from Almost Famous.

One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies of all time.

Another of my favorite scenes (also from Almost Famous) is the scene where the Stillwater tour plane almost crashes.

  • Wow I have too many:

From Love Actually, when Colin Firth follows the maid into the water. Actually the whole time they are talking, and she's saying what he's thinking.
And when Hugh Grant dances all over the place in his house.

The Color Purple, when Celies sister returns. And Danny Glover is in the distance and you know he made it happen, I cry EVERYTIME!
Oh and when Miss Suge, sings all the way to the church gives me chills.

    Fried Green Tomatoes: TaWanda!

IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!
  • Also, the scene in the last Peter Pan with Jeremy Sumpter where Tink dies. No, not because Tink dies (though that is a plus) but because of how Peter reacts and the whole mood affecting the weather, and everyone knowing what's happened.

In the NeverEnding Story, when Atreyu is facing off with Gmork. And when he's passing through the Golden Sphinxes.
  • I also love the scene from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, where "the eraser guys" are erasing Joel's very first memory of Clementine, from when they first met.  It's just sad but beautiful at the same time.  I love when she breaks from the memory to tell him, "this is it, Joel.  It'll be gone soon.  What do we do?"  And he just says "Enjoy it."

  • Oh, the scene in Love and Other Drugs where they were having sex and Jake was naked......Oh yeah that was the whole movie!

This makes me cry everytime. Eternal Sunshine was the first movie H and I watched together, and at the end of the movie, I looked at H and said "Do you think that technology will ever become available?" And he said "I don't know, but even if it does, I'll never forget you." Heartmelt.
  • "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

'Nough said. The part where he finally kills the six-fingered man is so heart-wrenching to me. I watched an interview with Mandy Patinkin and he said that during that scene, he imagined talking to cancer since his dad died from cancer. He got so into the scene, that the guy who played the six-fingered man was actually afraid he was going to hurt him!

I love Neverending Story...one of my all time faves

I don't why but the scene in The Hangover where Bradley Cooper opens the bathroom door and finds the tiger....I laugh everytime.  And the same goes for the "wolfpack" story on the roof

The super-sexy kiss from The Notebook on the dock

Usual Suspects....at the end where Keyser Soze plays everyone a fool

  • This scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4wykeJBHdE) from The Other Guys had me and H cracking up for days.  The movie in itself is not very good, but this scene is pure gold.

Also, any scene in Wet Hot American Summer, or the Big Lebowski. Absolutely any one of those scenes is my favorite movie scene.

  • I'm just gonna go ahead and say the last 20 min of The Notebook makes me cry like a baby.

and a childhood/teenhood favorite: The scene in A Knights Tale where William(Heath) goes to visit his father after so many years and he realizes that his father is blind and they both cry and it is so happy.

I love when Allan is asking the front desk lady if this is the "real Caesar's Palace."

    And "IT'S NOT A PURSE, IT'S A SATCHEL."

And "Not at the table, Carlos."

And it's a great day when I get "...and we're the three best friends that anybody could have" stuck in my head.

I might have to watch that flick this weekend.

"Show, show me this pasa doble".  I LOVE that movie.  I have the VHS, DVD and CD.  Ahhhh sigh.  :-)
  • KD - that "Hit Weezer!" scene in the cemetery is where you can see the roof of the house I lived in (10 years later). I used to walk Maggie in that cemetery.

The scene where Dorothy walks through her house and opens the front door into Munchkinland. It made me want to be a set designer as a kid.

In GWTW, when Mammy shows her red petticoat to Rhett.

In Silence of the Lambs - when Clarice first meets Hannibal Lecter.

In Young Frankenstein - oh man. "You take the blonde and I'll take the one in the toiban!" "Roll, roll, roll in the hay!" "Werewolf?" "There!" "There, wolf!" "Abby... someone. Abby-normal." OK, pretty much the entire movie.

History of the World Part I - (Oedipus) Hey Jocephus! Hey, motherfucker! I had to watch it 3 times before I got that. I also say so and so is nuts - N-V-T-S, nuts all the time.

The principal's office scene in Porky's.

Any scene in Halloweens where Michael tilts his head.

Jason's stalking in Friday the 13ths (part 6 and up)

Freddy Kreuger:  "I'm your boyfriend now, Nancy!"

  • I also would have to add in almost every scene in Drop Dead Gorgeous. I can't pick a favorite there.
