Similar to Highlands Country Club but can accomodate more guests

Hi everyone,

We had our minds made up on the Highlands Country Club for our reception but have been getting a lot of pressure from our families to increase the size of our guest list. The Highland only holds 150 max, and we'd like to explore locations that can hold up to at least 200. We we loved about the Highlands that we'd like to find in a reception site is the access to both indoor and outdoor throughout the reception as well as the quality of the food (not typical wedding food). We also really liked being the only reception at one time.

Any suggestions are welcome! We'd like to stay in the Hudson Valley or Fairfield County.

    The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills can accommodate up to around 350 guests. Not sure if it's totally what you're looking for, but its on a golf course and the reception room opens to the outdoor ceremony space (which is a large patio-type area).

    Also try Rolling Greens at Dutchess Golf and Country Club. The food is fantastic and I think they can accomodate up to 225 people. The prices aren't terrble, even if you're looking for a Saturday wedding. The only downside really is that its right off of Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. I think its still worth a look though.

    did you try their sister place The Garrison?
    Since I am so close to ct, try the candlewood inn...it is gorgeous or any of their properties.

    The Villa Barone Hilltop Manor holds over 500 people i think .  I'm doing the inside/outside thing there .  They have foutains and a huge new waterfall on one of their patios and they let you costomize your own menu .

    I've never benn to the highlands Country Club so i don't know if they are similiar.

    The Mansion at colonial terrace is close to highlands country club and they definitely allow you to customize your wedding reception.  they have lots of grounds and like us, you can have your cocktails inside and out as well as dinner.
