Snarky Brides

Je suis bored - poll...

Where is everyone? I know people had weddings this weekend but it feels so dead...

Poll anyone? or in French if you will...un sondage? (and yes, this is indeed, the most random poll ever, sigh).

1. Do you speak any languages other than English?

2. Where did you go on honeymoon/plan to go on honeymoon/imagine one day planning on going on honeymoon?

3. What did you eat for dinner tonight?

4. If you could only keep one thing in presently in your purse forever, what would it be?

5. Have you ever bought anything off the knot? why/why not...

Re: Je suis bored - poll...

  • 1. Do you speak any languages other than English? French fluenty. When I lived in Italy, I spoke some Italian.
    2. Where did you go on honeymoon/plan to go on honeymoon/imagine one day planning on going on honeymoon? No firm ideas yet, which is why I included this question, so the rest of you can inspire me. We can't decide if we want to go 'big huge busy all-inclusive great rep' resort or 'small, quiet, maybe not all-inclusive possibly less well known' resort.
    3. What did you eat for dinner tonight? I made indian food...it was good. I want more but have stopped myself.
    4. If you could only keep one thing in presently in your purse forever, what would it be? I can't decide between lip gloss or my phone.
    5. Have you ever bought anything off the knot? why/why not... They don't ship to Canada but even if they did, I don't know if I would...not sure if any of it is worth it....
  • 1.  Oui!  Je parle Francais y hablo Espanole.
    2.  We're honeymooning in Mexico, probably to north of Puerto Vallarta area.
    3.  Dinner will be spaghetti bolonaise.
    4.  I'd keep photos of my kids forever in my purse.
    5.  Never bought anything off the knot.  I don't know why not...
  • 1. Do you speak any languages other than English? Un peu de francais (umm..I hope that shows how little I speak it.) FI is pretty fluent in French, and also speaks some Japanese, and can read it very well.  I don't understand how his mind works.

    2. Where did you go on honeymoon/plan to go on honeymoon/imagine one day planning on going on honeymoon? My FI is going to plan the whole thing as a surprise to me.  I told him that as long as I could spend some time on the beach with an umbrella drink, I would be happy.

    3. What did you eat for dinner tonight? J'ai mangé...Wendy's.

    4. If you could only keep one thing in presently in your purse forever, what would it be? Money?  If that doesn't count, I guess my phone.

    5. Have you ever bought anything off the knot? why/why not. No, I still have a ways till the wedding.  I've looked, and there is some cute stuff, but I haven't done any shopping around so I don't know if any of it is a good deal or not.
  • Saxy--that's cool about FI and Japanese language.  Difficult, I'm sure!
  • 1. Do you speak any languages other than English?  No, but I wish I spoke fluent Spanish because then I would be able to get a job (I live in El Paso)

    2. Where did you go on honeymoon/plan to go on honeymoon/imagine one day planning on going on honeymoon?  We are going to Hawaii.  My DH's parents are paying for the honeymoon and when they asked DH where we would want to go he said Hawaii because his mom never took him there after he graduated high school but she took his brother and sister.  He joined the Army right out of H.S. she kind of couldn't take him but he would rather just be bitter about it.

    3. What did you eat for dinner tonight?  Nothing yet, I probably wont make anything DH is in the field

    4. If you could only keep one thing in presently in your purse forever, what would it be?  It's a toss up between my phone or money

    5. Have you ever bought anything off the knot? why/why not...  Not close enough to my wedding to purchase anything yet
  • 1. Do you speak any languages other than English? Broken French.  Very broken.

    2. Where did you go on honeymoon/plan to go on honeymoon/imagine one day planning on going on honeymoon? Bermuda!  My fiance and I have been drooling over the hotel we're staying at for the past few days.

    3. What did you eat for dinner tonight? panko encrusted tilapia and green beans

    4. If you could only keep one thing in presently in your purse forever, what would it be? lip balm!

    5. Have you ever bought anything off the knot? why/why not... No... I'm still too far from my wedding to be tempted.

I don't get how he thinks at all...he's majoring in French and Japanese, and plans to teach, but he'd really love to work as a translator full-time.  The craziest part is that he added Japanese as a major kind of late--he'd tested out of a lot of his classes for the French major, so he thought, "What else can I do? Ah!  Japanese!"  I don't get it. :-)
  • 1. Do you speak any languages other than English?
I took French in high school.  By the time I graduated I had forgotten nearly everything I learned, so we'll go with no.

    2. Where did you go on honeymoon/plan to go on honeymoon/imagine one day planning on going on honeymoon?
We drove to Washington, D.C.  It was loads of fun and we're hoping to go back this year.

    3. What did you eat for dinner tonight?
I picked up some Chinese food about 2 hours ago, but my stomach's been bothering me today so I'm not being very successful at eating it right now.

    4. If you could only keep one thing in presently in your purse forever, what would it be?
My medical device.  It's kind of a necessity.

    5. Have you ever bought anything off the knot? why/why not...
No.  If the knot can't even get their website right do you really think they can ship goods properly?  I know for a fact they have a hard time with this because of all the complaints I've seen on the boards.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. • Oh look, a poll and people to talk to!  ::waves::  It has indeed been very dead around these parts.

    1. Do you speak any languages other than English? Not so much.  I took French in high school but don't really remember a lot, and I can read a bit of Spanish.  I want to look into Rosetta Stone.

    2. Where did you go on honeymoon/plan to go on honeymoon/imagine one day planning on going on honeymoon? Moorea in the French Polynesia.  Someday.  Right now we're kinda postponing the honeymoon to buy a house.

    3. What did you eat for dinner tonight? A PB & J because I have big plans for a banana split in a few mins here...

    4. If you could only keep one thing in presently in your purse forever, what would it be? Why can't I keep everything in my purse forever?  Um.. maybe my wallet?  Cause it's Coach and it's pretty?

    5. Have you ever bought anything off the knot? why/why not... Nope.  I'm not into a lot of wedding 'swag,' save the fact that my BMs have come to me and asked for the rhinestone 'bridesmaid' tanks, which I will make for them myself.  And really, do I need napkins that say "Jen & Josh" on them?

That's what gets me...what do I use all the extras for after the wedding?  Even if they are just napkins, I still think I would feel strange mopping up cat puke with pretty pink napkins that say  <3 Lauren and MIke <3 or whatever.
  • 1. Do you speak any languages other than English?
Je parle francais un peu, and very little spanish

    2. Where did you go on honeymoon/plan to go on honeymoon/imagine one day planning on going on honeymoon?
My FI and I are going on NCL (cruise) to bahamas, mexico, cayman islands, and jamaica monnnn

    5. Have you ever bought anything off the knot? why/why not...
no i just assume its overpriced lol
  • Mon, was it the title that gave it away? ;-)  Yeah, this started as a poll.  It didn't go downhill until someone said they couldn't live without their toy, and lo and behold that person's FI apparently is a reg on the knot.

Roxy, why is everything so black and white?  why can't I be a prudish hoe, or a whorish prude?

  • Hmmmmm....."slow is better". Double meaning? I THINK SO!

  • Nah, chapstick doesn't work well as lube. Kinda like water. Puckers stuff too much.
  • I could be down with a prudish hoar
  • How would a prudish whore work?

You give handjobs to all the guys, but only through the pants while looking the other way?
  • I am having trouble deciding which one I like best. I really really like the hoe part in the first one.

The real problem is B that you just have too much class to be a full out slampig. Hoar fail.

  • I do this for my own amusement.
  • Krugen is a man?
Can you tell I just hopped on the last page here?
  • Well, it depends on which one of my ex's you happen to talk to.

Some say I'm like a Ken doll: My groin is a vast expanse of emptiness adorned only by the Mattel logo.
  • Roxy, he is Mizri's FI. They share everything.
