Boston officiant help

I'm getting married this July and still haven't booked a wedding officiant.  I'm a little stressed about this because I don't want someone who is too new-age or too religious (we are not having a religious ceremony).  We are getting married outside at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline.
Any one have any good recommendations? Thanks!
Lindsey

I'm having my brother-in-law marry me. You just have to download an application ( I found it at About.com) and send it to the govener with a $25 check. It seems pretty easy. They don't accept applications any earlier than 3 months in advance though, so I don't know if it will actually work! Here's hoping

We were stressing about this too for our August wedding and so many people I called were already booked.  We are using Karol Simon out of Billerica.  She is a super sweetheart, but she is very new to being a JP (I think she just started last year).  She's so sweet, we really liked her.  You can find her contact info here:

    http://www.mjpa.org/search-results-grid.aspx?c=Billerica&r=1&pb=0

That website is actually a great resource for finding JPs in other towns too.!

We also interviewed Mike Backer:  http://www.mikebacker.com/
He was really nice and we liked him too, however he was a bit more expensive.

    Good luck!

Oh, I was looking at Larz Anderson Park as a venue, but ultimately decided elsewhere! It's so beautiful.  I used to hang out outside there and read.  You will get some beautiful photographs there! Sorry, no reccomendations on JP.  I had a difficult time finding one, and ultimately went with a Rabbi.

As the pp, suggested we looked on the mjpa.com.

We ended up booking with Patrick Gecoya. We found him to be really nice and non-religious- exactly what we were looking for. He was also reasonably priced too. Here is his website if you are interested: http://www.justicepatrick.com/1.html

We are using Dan Griffiths (www.dangriffiths.me). He lives in NH, but travels to Boston to meet with couples.

Please look into Tom Welch also.  He officiated my friends wedding and did an amazing job.  She also said he is very reasonable with his prices.

You can also try doing what we are doing and have someone close to you become ordained for the occasion.  THen they can officiate your wedding and it might be more personal than someone you don't know.  Just  a thought.

We used Tom Welch for our wedding, and even though he's out of Weymouth he came up to Boston.  Review in bio.  Here's his website

My sister used Rick Perry, too!  She had a non-religious ceremony as she and hubby are different faiths.  He was great!

We booked Carol Merletti.  She was so fun to talk to on the phone, and she gets excellent reviews.  When I spoke with her, she said she can make it as religious (or non-religious) as you want.  Her prices are great-$150 for the ceremony, with minimal additional fees for consultations/RD.  Her website is www.weddingofyourdesires.com. he has an amzing voice, is cool, calm and collective.
he is probably 40 y/o. which I like. I like that he is young, and has a good look.
