Re: Does any one else owe?

  • Mag, I'll let you know what I find out. Neither of us is planning to change our withholding, so it may be ok.

Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew

[QUOTE]I TOTALLY forgot to change my W-4 at work in 2009. Anyone know how that's going to affect us? We were planning on filing jointly as married. I've changed it now. I think DH forgot to, too.

Having your W4 reflect you as married has NOTHING to do with filing married (joint or single). Keep your W4 at the single rate so that they take more out each week. This will help you not owe.

  • I am always confused with the taxes.......FI & I got our W-4s for this year.  Last year I got more money back then he did, and he makes more.

I was told I got more money back because on my W-4 I claim zero dependents, & my FI claims one dependent, himself.  So the way I understand it is he gets more take home up front so gets less back on the tail end.....and I get less take home but get more money after taxes.

Is that right??  Can someone help me out : )
  • Still waiting for my W2 and a couple other forms.  I got married last year and really have no idea what to expect.
