How much?

I'm new to this board..
I'm in the initial stages of planning and was wondering how much (not a specific #, but a range) you spent or plan to spend on your total look for the day?

Shoes, purse, veil, hair, make-up, dress, jewellery etc

Thanks...

Do you just want to compare what you've budget for these items? Some of your ranges are out a wack for me.  $2000 - $5000 is a huge range in my opinion.
  • yeah I kind of want to get an idea of what the general range is across .. I wasn't sure the best way to define the ranges.. If the range is too wide you can define yours ..

I kind of put my together my wish list of items I would love for my day of look and I was wondering if it was a ridiculous amount or if it was a pretty average amount...
  • I totally just hit the wrong one... I am NOT spending over 10,000 on my overall look mine is more in the 2,000-5,000 range.
  • Mine was in the $2000.00-$5.000 price range

  • My dress, veil, alterations & bustle, shoes were in the $2,000-$2,500 range.
  • I definitely budgeted $1,000 - $2,000, but I only ended up spending about $900.

  • Well, the gown-foot wear- hair - pedicure - flower for hair- blow out will come to $1000.
Haven't priced a veil...not decided on that yet...
will be doing own make up
and I have no idea how much (or how necessary) new undergarments will be.

So I don't quite know yet how much I'll be spending... good poll though, like to see what others are planning to do=)

judge the non-traditional, pop their happy little wedding balloons... and sleep better tonight for you have made the world a better place.

I did a drop veil, which is the simplest kind to make yourself--it's just a circle or oval of tulle that drapes over the head. I bought a really fine bridal tulle, folded it into quarters, and then cut a quarter circle, so that I'd have a full circle once I opened it up. I smoothed out the edges with scissors, and wore it pinned over my bun with hairpins. If you're pickier than I am, you could make a template out of paper so that it's perfectly round.

You can find instructions for other types of veils online, but many are a little trickier because you have to gather the tulle to attach it to a comb. You might want to try a web search or ask around the DIY board for more info.
  • thanks for all the responses :)

i have two sets of everything, dresses, louboutins', jewelry. more than i originally planned, but FI and my parents convinced me to have a long dress, instead of a tea-length, so i got my 2nd dress... which was how everything began...

but if you love shoes, def go for them, especially if you'd wear them again.
