Nevada-Las Vegas

what are you putting in your welcome bags?

I need ideas on what to put in welcome bags for everyone

Las Vegas Convention center is already sending me maps and brouchures, bags etc...but i need some personally touches to add: this is what i have so far

A bloody mary set in a small cellophane bag (travel size bottle of vodka, small can of tomato juice, salt and pepper packets, and tiny tabasco bottles i saw at world market)

a roll of pennies saying "try your luck on us at the penny slot machine"

water bottles with personalized labels

sunscreen ( it hink i should be able to get these one clearence soon, travel size)

personalized chap stick

Itinerary

Instant coffee

snacks (small bags of chips or candy)

Personalized poker chips (if i get can get a good price)

Personalized coffee mugs filled with candies or snacks if i can get them at a good price

Las vegas postcards

vegas coupons

All these are not definites, just ideas, I need to narrow it down.

What ideas do you have?

  • We're coming down from Canada and will most likely have people staying at different locations.  How are you ladies planning on 1) transporting the goodies and bags and 2) getting them to all your guests?

  • Well that's where is gets tricky. Our wedding is on Wednesday, we are getting there on Monday. We are hoping everyone will stay at our hotel or a hotel nearby, for those that aren't, I'll just have to contact the concierge or something...what are you doing to do?

  • I'm also going to make paddle fans out of the card stock I was going to use for programs. I'm debating if I should put these in the welcome bags or on the seats at ceremony, although I'm not sure how I would do that. Maybe I'll just have a basket for the fans next to the guestbook at the ceremony.

  • We haven't for sure decided to do the bags yet for this reason. I think we'd be in the same boat as you though. Just hoping that most of our guests will choose to stay at or around them same hotel to make it easier if we do decide to do them.

I like the idea of having your fans on your guest book table. Perhaps have a cute little sign so that people know to grab them on their way by.

I like the bloody mary kit idea.  It's funny you mention those baby tobacso bottles; Hyatt hotels use those for room service.  I always ask them to include a few of them with breakfast so I bring a bunch home with me when I travel for work; got a drawer full of them lol.

Not sure how many guests you're having but a roll of pennies or a coffe mug sound like a very heavy suitcase.

Married in Vegas - June 2011

  • Fiance works for united airline so we get 90% off shipping thru fedex and get to take on heavier bags, not going to do mugs either, they are too expensive. I think the only people who like bloody marys are me and my mom, so Im going to do little vodka bottles and small cans of cranberry or orange juice instead (even though i reeeeeally want to make adorable bloody mary kits!). ill buy that stuff when i get there.

Hi! I was reading your post and wondering how much you paid for the Convention Center to mail you all that stuff. Who did you contact? Did you just ask if they could send you some info for your guests?? Thanks!
  • I just called the convention center and got my free gift bags. they just asked for my state, then they transferred me and asked for my name and shipping info and said they were on the way. I'm so excited.
