  I need a photographer for my wedding on 6/25 however I don’t have the 1000 bucks they’re all asking. Does someone know a photographer in the Portland area that is affordable and lets you keep your pictures?

  You could also try contacting some of the local colleges - Art Institute, especially - and see if they have anyone they'd recommend.  Often times seniors are willing to do it cheaper because they need stuff for their portfolio, and you'd be able to see what they've already done to get a feel for whether or not you like their work.

  My daughter used brianfoulkes.com of Brian Foulkes Photography.  He charged $850 for 10 hours and gave us 2 digital dvd's with copyright release. He has over 20 years experience and was very professional and non obtrusive.   Here is the link to her photo gallery:

  Try looking outside of the Portland-metro area.  Smaller vendors are not charging to travel within a reasonable distance and we are finding their prices to be shockingly lower for the same quality work.  Check out:

  Sweet Country is in Turner, Luxe is in Browsville and Camiga is in Battleground, WA - they all have packages under $1,000 and they include engagement photos.
