DJ opinions: Elite Sound & Premier Entertainment

We are looking into DJs for our reception and have met with both of these DJs. Both look nice and are priced similarly. I dont know anyone who has used them though. Anyone here work with either? Did you like them? Pros/Cons? Thanks so much!

A lot of girls on this board and otherwise love Elite Sound.  I met with them and loved them but got a better deal for what I wanted with Magic Moments.

I don't think you can go wrong with Elite Sound.  I have never heard of the other company so I'm not much help there.

We're using Elite Sound - LOVE THEM! I've seen them at a wedding and they are truly amazing. The dance floor was packed all night, and they don't make unnecessary announcement/comments.

We used Premier Entertainment and loved them.   Ralph the owner is awesome, he was great to work with even when some things came up and our original DJ left  the company several months before our wedding.   Ralph helped us choose another DJ, and everything worked out great.   Our DJ, was Co...he was a great guy.  We met with him a week or two before the wedding to go over everything and he did everything we asked.  You can't go wrong with them!   Good Luck!

I have to disagree with Elite Sound, I went to a wedding recently where they were the DJ and they annoyed me.  I felt that they made way too many unnecessary announcements and were almost narrating the night.  Not sure if it was just this specific emcee or if this is the norm for them, or even if the bride & groom requested the announcements, but it's definitely not my style and made me cross them off my list of potential DJs.

Those are actually the two companies I met with, and I went with Elite Sound.  Premier seemed good and I'm sure they would have been great but I was just much more impressed with Elite Sound, based on both my discussion with them and the video clips they showed me.  The two companies were less than $100 apart on price.

As far as the announcements, they specifically ask you how much/little talking you want them to do so they were probably just doing what the couple asked of them.  One of the reasons we went with them is they have a reputation as being less talkative than others.

In a few days I'll be able to give a more solid review!

Thanks for the clarification, maybe we'll put them back on the list and talk to them about the frequency of announcements :)

we used elite sound, we had one of the mikes.....my friend used them for their may wedding and had the other mike (i think we had mike p, and they had mike b?)
they were both great...the dance floor was packed all night...we booked with them before my friend's wedding, and at their wedding, we knew we made the right choice....
and as announcements go....i only heard him really announce us...and do the garter and bouquet and cake stuff.....

I met with both too and we ended up going with Premier.  We loved both, and the prices were basically the same.  In the end, Premier had more experiance at our venue (and a deal with our venue to upgrade our package for nada) that swayed us to go with them over Elite.  But I do not think you could go wrong with either.

yeah, both seem great. One has been to our venue, one hasn't- so that will most likely make up our minds :)
Thanks again for all the great advice!
