Wedding Party

A change of heart

One of my bms has always been crazy about sides being the same and wearing the same dress, etc. Then she was in my wedding. She picked out her own black dress.

We talked yesterday for about an hour about random stuff, some wedding stuff and she is now in someone else's wedding. The new bride wants her to wear light pink dresses and she is scared to see what the bride will pick because she's picking one style.

She then told me that she was so happy that we got to pick and that it totally changed her mind on what she'll want when she gets married. That black was awesome and that no one even noticed because the day was about the bride. She also liked the different jewelry, hair, shoes, etc.

I felt bad because apparently, new bride told my friend "you would have been my MOH but you live in a different state and can't help me." I told my friend that location has nothing to do with it and when it's her time, she can pick whomever she wants.

Just psyched that she liked being in black and letting girls pick their own dress.

  • Yay Stina! Way to be awesome :o

And yes, a lot of times people base opinions on what they've seen, because that makes it "right." I have only been to a few weddings so that's why I'm here, getting other ideas. I love matching and symmetry, but when it comes to people, that's just not practical or reasonable. My two MOHs don't look alike at all, so why should they have to dress alike?

Stefani, so true. My girls are so different in body shape as well as personality. I let them pick their own hairstyles and make up too. One picked greecian curls and another picked cali beach curls. Would I pick that myself? Probably not, but I'm not them.

  • I think we'd be really good at this ... and we could probably make a lot of money, lol

  • That's funny. I wanted to choose a designer, material, and color for the dresses and let my bm's choose from there. I gave them all that option and although some a couple of them seemed to like a different dress than the one they decided on better, they all WANTED to wear the same dress. It was like THEY thought they would look wierd if they didn't all match. So of course I reassured them that if they wanted a different dress it would look just as good, but they insisted they wanted to match...

[QUOTE]I think we should have Bride Training reality show, where we just teach girls that are going down the 'zilla path how to pull back, and become sane again. Stina and Malphabet can educate on attire selection, Brooke and I can run the "How to Deal With A Crazy BP Member" seminar, EmilyinChile can teach the "Putting it into Perspective" class, followed by Sarah's "You are Not Thor, Therefore You Have No Thunder To Steal" course ... and Banana can like administer the final exam. If you're still a wench after we get through with you, she gets to VOID your marriage license and make you do it all over again ... and you can't get married until she thinks you're not a b!tch, lol. We'd so get good ratings.

<div>Wow, that DOES sound like a good show. I'd watch it even if I weren't in it. I love it when brides get a reality check. Shows like bridezillas, although fun to see them cry, are just bad examples for stressed out ladies.</div>
