I know others that don't like her. She has an annoying voice, talks at the top of her lungs, and is just in general so fuucking perky it's annoying. She pulled the age card on me. I told her that not everyone is going to like everyone they work with and she said, "I have been around much longer than you have an I know not everyone's going to like me." Then why are you trying so hard to figure out why I don't say GM to you??
Oh.. Andrea's reminded me... Irrational:  H's BFF's GF (got that?) wouldn't let him drive with H to Denver b/c she didn't want to "be alone" for 3 days.  I don't get how you can be in your mid/late 20's and not be self assured enough to be alone for 3 days.
Posted by Loopyseven
<div>This made me laugh. Seriously, she couldn't spend 3 days alone? I would be planning a night in with chick flicks and chocolate ice cream and would be pushing that man out my door. </div>
• Loopy that's just stupid.  It's like all the spouses that complain about duty days when the ship is home.  It's once every 8 days for the most part that H has to sleep on the ship.  We both look forward to it because I get to catch up on girlie DVR and movies and he can go to bed at 7:00 without hearing shitt from me.  The only time it sucks is when you get the weekend rotation, so one week it's Friday night, the next week it's Saturday night, and the following it's Sunday.  They are there all day and overnight so it keeps you from being able to plan much for 3 weekends in a row.

As much as I hate last year with H being in MD and me being down in VA, some Sundays I was glad when he headed back to MD. I liked my independence and my routine.

• If you live together I don't see any reason you can't spend a few days alone.
• Irrational irritation- FI keeps wearing mismatched socks.  I have a basket of socks that are missing their partners and he keeps doing it.  I don't know why it bugs me so much.

I didn't mind when H was on shift work either in the Navy. Granted his were 7 days of overnights, but I saw him in between when I got home and when he left at like 10pm. So I was sleeping while he was working and he was sleeping while I was working.

• Brandi - I freaking hate trying to match up socks. I actually don't have any plain white socks. They are all colored or have patterns. Easier to find the match.
• Thanks Muni! The biggest issue is that they want their nanny to live close by (under 30 minutes) but they live in a very expensive part of town and I simply can't afford any of the apartments for rent in that area. Even if FI and I work things out and we had two incomes, things would be tight if we lived there.

Poke that's why I only have white socks. They're all the exact same so it doesn't matter.

• Irrational: H keeps whining about putting Cooper in a kennel. "He'll be so sad and lonely. He'll miss us," etc.

The dog has been to this kennel before. It's like a doggy resort. He gets a huge indoor/outdoor space to himself, plenty of social time with the other doggies, and access to an agility course (he loves it) and a pool (he's unsure of it). Plus, the place is really well staffed, so he'll have plenty of people to pet him.

</div><div>I'm having the same reservations about putting our dog in a kennel.  We haven't ever done it, but my parents used the place for their dog and loved it.  Logically I know she will be fine, but I baby her.

Special the best part of taking your dog to a kennel is picking them up. They just love you soooo much when they see you again.

I am (I think) rationally irritated that my H left a can of tuna in the trash overnight. EVERYONE knows you're supposed to take that shiiiiit out to the garbage can. Our kitchen is smelly. :(

• Another rational irritation: the church across the street from us is having a tent revival this weekend. They're loud, and the street is extra crowded.
• We haven't had to take our dogs to kennels at all yet and I know I'll feel guilty whenever we do have to.  Everytime I went home from WA I had reservations for places but then people offered to watch the dog since I only had 1 at that point.  Now when we drive home we can just bring them with us, but if we go fly anywhere it will be interesting.

<div>They live off of Cary Glen Blvd. I literally uttered words of profanity out of jealousy when I saw some of the houses. </div>
• Erin, that's totally rational. I got mad at H one summer for cleaning out the fridge the day after trash day (ours gets picked up on Thursdays). The garbage can was unbelievably stinky, since it was parked in the sun and filled with meat. Ugh.

I'm irrationally irritated that I just found out they're building a McDonald's at the corner of the street I live near. I saw the construction vehicles and wondered what was going up. My heart was hoping for a Chic-Fil-A or Panera. Nope, H just told me it's a McDonalds. Cuz that's what the world needs. More fuucking McDonalds. I realize this is extremely irrational.

• Panera is amazing. I'd actually be more irritated about a Panera being put it than a McDonalds. I wouldn't want McDonalds every day, but I'd want Panera every day.
• Usually my mom watches him, but she can't until her back heals (she's four weeks out of major back surgery). He only has two modes: sleep and more rambunctious than a room full of three-year-olds. If he knocked her down, jumped on her, or even just bumped her the wrong way, he could severely injure her or even paralyze her.

I really wish we had a Panera or Noodle and Co. here. All we have is McD's, Jack in the Box, and Arbys. Oh, and DQ.
• Aryn, I live 13 minutes from there.  And my neighborhood is not fancy.  Get on FB and we'll chat about this.

This is SO true. Fox uses our oversized chair as part of his obstacle course. Right now he's sleeping, but I expect full on whippet mode in a couple hours. He can be such a handful.</div>

Oooh I'd be down with a Noodle & Company. The problem with the McDonalds (and this is totally generalizing and I realize it, this is what makes it irrational) is they draw a particular level of clientele, and there's already enough issues with people hanging around convenience stores in the neighborhood and just generally loitering. If there was maybe a higher quality of product in the area it would help to class the place up a little. But I guess since the place isn't that klassy to begin with a McD's will fit in better.

• I would love a Panera at my  corner, but hate it at the same time because I would spend a ton of money.  We have Wendy's, McD's, and Hardee's at the corner near us.  I've been to Wendy's once and McD's once for my friend's son.

• I have never heard of Noodle and Company. I looked it up and it looks really good.
