What do you do with your bouquet after ceremony?

I'm toying with the idea of using my bouquet and my bridesmaids as centerpieces at the reception dinner at Maggianos.  We'll only have 3 tables. If they just supplied us with vases on the tables we could drop our flowers in when we get there.  Just wondering if the flowers will hold up till then.  We'll be doing a 3 hour photo tour between ceremony and dinner.  Anyone ever try this?

It depends on what flowers you have in your bouquet.  I got my flowers around 3 in the afternoon, and my ceremony wasn't until 7 with the reception after and they were fine.  The hydrangea were a bit wilted but I was the only person who could tell so it didn't matter much.

That's exactly what we're doing.  I'll have enough vases for me and my five bridesmaids to stick our bouquets in, and that will be pretty much the extent of the flower arrangements.  My flowers are paper, so I'm not concerned with how they're going to hold up.  But my sister used our flowers to decorate the head table at her reception, and they still looked reasonably fresh by the end of the night.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

I was just in my best friend's wedding in September, and our bouquets were used as the centerpieces for the head table. They were roses, and the wedding and reception was outside. They looked just fine even though it was pretty warm outside! I think it is a great way to save some money!

Your bouquet should hold up pretty well until the end of the night. (the reason why most of them are so heavy is because of the water they store in the bouquet to keep them fresh longer!) If you only have 3 tables, it would be a great money saver to use them as centerpieces! You can also either decide to use them on the head table and/or cake table for extra decor. =)

yes we used our bouquets for the reception as well.
you can also buy those beads that retain water or can be used in lieu of water...i can't quite remember what they are called for a little more of an extra touch.
