Wino evening roundup

Where is everyone?  I am off of work until Monday and I am so happy.  I am sleeping in tomorrow and then taking Tressa to see Mr. Beefy - she hasn't seen him in 2 months!
I'm cracking open a bottle of wine and really wishing I picked up a bottle of sparkling almond wine last night.  That sounds delicious right now.

Re: Wino evening roundup

  • Hey!  I'm relaxing at home right now.  Probably going to go take a nap soon.  I work 11-7 tonight, then I'm off until Tuesday afternoon - back to 2nd shift next week.

I haven't worked out since the 23rd.  There's no good reason I didn't do it yesterday or today except that I didn't feel like it.
  • I've been doing pretty good with the Kinect - I like the kickboxing.  My whole body is sore right now, I hope it's from that and not that I'm getting sick.
You still going to the GTG?

  • What is up with the double posts tonight? I know TK is sometimes wacky, but...
  • I don't know, but that is a holy wall o'text.

  • We are going to Cabo San Lucas.  Meeting my parents, single brother, and bro and SIL for a week of fun in the sun (and tequila :))
  • That sounds like fun!  Everytime we plan a trip to Mexico, we always start off planning to go to Cabo.  Then we end up going cheap and going somewhere else.  My MOH's little sister was initially planning a DW in Cabo.  I was SO excited.  Then she changed her mind :(  One day we'll get there.

Yup, I'm not even attempting that one unless someone can give me some cliff notes.
  • I had a terrible workout this morning. I got to the gym late. Then I picked the wrong interval training podcast for my 5k training. I picked week 4 and not week 3. Since I wasn't able to go consistently last week and this week (stupid holiday hours) there was no way I had the endurance to do week 4. It wasn't until I was 10 minutes in though that I realized it was the wrong one. I kind of gave up after that because it was getting close to when I needed to leave to shower and get to work. Workout Fail!

  • I gave up after the first paragraph or 2.  I don't see how a question can be that complicated.

  • My dad's cousin has like 10 or 12 time-share weeks at a nice resort there - so we are using 2 of her weeks - just paying the maintenance fee.  Makes it really affordable :)
  • mkrupar - I am sending you lots of hugs. It sounds like after the day you have had, you really need it. I hope you can get some r&r in tonight.
  • I think my mom and I finally picked out our hotel for Aruba next Christmas, so that's fun.  I love to plan vacations.

  • Loopy - I could use a vacation about right now. I just keep thinking about our HM and how nice that was. I don't know how we ever afforded it considering we can't afford jack now. We are trying to figure out a way for me to go back to school taking online classes in June. I am dying so bad to go back to school.
  • I need honeymoon suggestions. We're thinking a cruise or all-inclusive. Anyone have any good ideas?? We'd like to go immediately after the wedding, so cruises are limited.
  • We did a southern caribbean cruise, Birdie, and we really enjoyed it.  We left Nov. 1.

  • My cousin went to St. Lucia to an AI for vacation and loved it.  She got married in Jamaica at a different AI resort and said that was great too.  I think they were both kind of $$ though.

  • Did you go through a travel agent? Part of our problem is our desire to go right after the wedding. Most cruises depart on the weekends and we don't really want to push trying to fly/drive and make it the same day the cruise leaves.

  • What does AI stand for Loopy? I've seen it a lot but wasn't sure.
  • No, we booked it on our own - have you checked out www.vacationstogo.com?  You can search by departure port and date to see what is available.

  • Lucas's parents are on a cruise right now for their 40th wedding anniversary. They're going through Belize and a few other stops. She works for a company that plans shore excursions for cruises, so they're always going on one.

    all-inclusive

  • I think AI means All Inclusive

  • We went to Montego Bay Jamaica and did the AI thing. We loved it, we only had 5 days bc of H's job, but it was well worth the money. We left on Sunday morning and got married on Saturday. We took a Lincoln to the hotel at the airport from the reception. We used a TA through AAA bc H is a member and its free to members. She was very knowledgeable and informative. She answered all our questions and things we had after doing some of our own research.
  • Oh haha makes sense Tongue out
  • I kinda wanted to do a cruise, but H didn't want to. He was worried about safety and all that jazz. I can see his point, but you just have to be smart about it, ya know? Someday, hopefully.
  • Why was he worried about safety on a cruise?  Like personal safety or safety like the boat having a fire and having to be towed back to shore?  Just curious.

  • I think part of my "eh" attitude about going on a cruise is that I've been on two before and most of our options are identical to those I've previously been on. I mean, a cruise is better than a LOT of things, but I'd like to do something new for my honeymoon. I've never been to an all-inclusive resort, so that is appealing to me. However, I think FI would want to do an excursion or two. I dont think he could deal with just laying on the beach for the entire time.
  • He is just weird like that. I think it was more personal safety. I guess he didn't want me to be another Natalie Holloway or sold into sex slavery or whatever. But again, its just common sense, at least I think so.
