Help me plan a menu!!

for a bridal shower I am planning! I'm planning along with the mothers of B & G and another BM...I'm having difficulty because the MOG doesn't seem to be interested but her friend offered to have the shower at her home...

The bride doesn't like crossiants & chicken salad....I am thinking a light lunch...nothing too heavy...We'll have salad and a couple different dressings, a pasta salad, cake & lemon bars for dessert...we don't really want sandwiches...

As far as beverages go, I'm thinking a punch, water & coffee.

What do you suggest??

I agree with BrightFirefly. But for those that do not want pizza. Maybe some type of thing that resembles bruschetta or ritz with peperoni and cheese melted/heated. You can do so much with a cracker/bread to top it with various spreads or something. Easy to make ahead of time and light and not as big as sandwiches.

Bruschetta is a really good suggestion, people always love that! How about fruit salad, either hot or cold vegetable dip (like a yummy artichoke or spinach dip! mmm), you could do a twist on the usual sandwich and have open faced sandwiches on mini bagels?

ETA: Oh and I second Jen lol! Swedish meatballs or those mini weiners, to offer something a little more filling. Not gonna lie, I'd miss having a protein dish if there wasn't one at a get together haha

Maybe include finger food like cheese/meat & crackers, veggie & dip or warm food like meatballs (YUM!), vienna sausage, cheese dip, or whatever else needs to be in the crockpot? I love these kinds of food!

I'm big on finger food. Cheese/crackers/pepperoni, little hot dogs, cheese ball. Artichoke/Spinach dip, Buafflo Chicken wing dip.

I'm with Nati, I need a hot protein dish.

I agree you need a protein. Plus as a seriously picky eater, I would be starving. I don't eat salad, and I hate cold pasta so pasta salad is out for me too. Having a protein, like meatballs, or even cheese and crackers, would give people like me something to eat, and others would enjoy it too.

I agree you def need some type of protein. I would def do a cheese and cracker platter and maybe a spinach and artichoke dip. What about serving some wine too or mimosas?
