    YAY I love you for posting that!  I've been meaning to scour those boards for HM tips and reviews, but keep forgetting to.  That post was really insightful.

    I'm so much more excited for the honeymoon than the wedding hahaha

    Lady--Out of curiosty did you get trip insurance for aruba? FI and I were thinking about this, but we are unsure just because aruba is not part of the hurricane belt.

    <div>My cousin went to Aruba in August 4 years ago for her HM and they got hit bad the last day of their scheduled HM and had to stay 2 extra days since no flights were going out. Just an FYI...</div>

    Totally jumping into the thread that was not meant for me . . . lol

    I would not be worried about hurricanes ANYWHERE, because honestly, you can't control them! You have enough stress about other things, don't waste your time with it. Insurance is not worth it, IMO.

    Fiance and I went to Barbados in October of 2010 and it hadn't been hit with any kind of tropical storm or hurricane in 55 years. What do you know, the last day we were there, we got hit with an actual, legit, 100-mph-winds hurricane (houses busted open, our hotel was ruined, etc.) and were stuck for an extra 2 days! (Same as Ally's sister!) Not aruba, but still. It was unlikely but still happened.

    In any event, point being, "you can plan a pretty picnic, but you can't predict the weather" in the wise words of Outkast. :) I would skip the insurance.

    ugh sorry busy dealing with stupid sh*t at work today.  Bells no we didn't our travel agent was like I have never had any of my couples HM in aruba purchase trip insurance.  So we are taking the risk!!

    I am so much more excited to get away after the wedding too!!!

    bridetobe, just curious where did you stay in Barbados? We were seriously considering Barbados for our HM, and chose a different place but I would LOVE to go there one day!

    Beachlover - I will totally threadjack (again) and say we stayed at The Crane. http://www.thecrane.com/

    It's GORGEOUS (they of course redid it after the hurricane and restored it to its previous beauty). It was one of the best vacations fiance and I have ever been on and that's despiet the hurricane. I would go back in one second if possible! If you want more info anytime just page me on TK and I will send you a LOOOOONG email about Barbados in general and also about The Crane.
