2/21 Update... Shoe Lust. Denied!

Cry

I finally took a fabric swatch with me to compare my dress color to the shoes I've been lusting after for the wedding. My hope was that they'd be in the same colorway, just a few shades off. It was just awful! While both shoes and dress are gray ... dress has much more blue than do the shoes. They won't work together. Not at all. *sigh*

Goodbye, lovely shoes!

ETA (2/21): I went back with the dress, tried the shoes on with it. It is not a winner! Back to the drawing board ...

Those are very pretty. There's plenty of time to continue your search and find just what you want.

Aww, i'm sorry! Any chance you could buy them anyway to wear for one of the pre-wedding events (rehearsal and dinner, maybe?) or for your honeymoon?

I like the way you think. Interestingly enough, when FI were at dinner last night (early Valentine's Day celebration!), I mentioned how bummed I was. He said he thinks the shoes look great with the dress color. Hmm ...

Now, FI has great taste in clothing. When he dresses up, he looks stunning (yummy!). BUT ... I'm not so sure he's completely objective when it comes to sexy looking pumps. Hee hee!

Well, maybe you could show the dress and shoe combo to some other (more objective) friends or family? ;) Get general opinions, and then go with the general consensus. Or don't, if you really don't like the way it looks together then you could just do what I suggested, get them for some other celebratory purpose. :)

Darn it! I love those shoes!!!

How about try to find a white or ivory pair and have them dyed to match your dress?

Again ... liking the way you think. I'm going back to the store tomorrow and plan to take the gown and see how it looks with the shoes. And, really, who needs to have a legitimate excuse to buy luscious, sexy shoes?? Not me! La, la, la!

Like the way you think Lisa, no one needs and excuse to buy gorgeous shoes!

I actually ended up purchasing 3 pair of wedding shoes, AND BORROWED ONE PAIR....

I thought the first would be to uncomfortable and high, then my sister had a gorgeous pair she was going to lend me but when I did my alterations and stood in them for 2 hours, they were killer on the feet. Then got a gold pair of kitten heals, which I should have worn but the dress was hemmed to a higher heal. Then bought another pair of the right height the day before the wedding, and although gorgeous, killed my feet on the wedding day. I brought the kitten heals and changed into them for the reception....

My feet hurt for almost the entire wedding. PLEASE get comfortable shoes ladies, nothing worse than hurting feet at the wedding....

Oh, I'm way ahead of you. I actually am wearing a pair of shoes that I already own instead of buying new ones. They're all broken in, they still look gorgeous, and they're comfy. They're just short heels, no more than like 2" high (probably more like 1 1/2"). I was ALMOST considering buying another pair of the same shoes in silver, instead of just wearing the red ones I already have, but I like the splash of colour they give. :)

Ohhhh Lisa.... I hope that they work with your dress I totally know what it's like to have shoe lust and then to have it denied. I got lucky, the FI was with me when I got my wedding shoes... and I got the pair I originally wanted!! Yay!

    Please keep us posted.

I love those shoes, and I agree w/ all the other ladies here, who really needs a reason to buy some beautiful, sexy shoes. I really do hope they match your dress, otherwise, I'm sure you will find a great time to wear them.
