Christophers vs Aster

Hey ladies,
I interviewed a couple photographers today....
Christophers Studio of Pearl River and Aster Photographic Elegance of Upper Saddle River.

Has anyone used either?  The good....the bad......

    I know that Christopher's has been around a long time and I would assume they have a reasonable reputation, but my cousin used them 6 or 7 years ago and they were HORRIBLE. It's a long story, but in the end, not only were they completely unprofessional (it took them almost a year to get their proofs), but they took terrible photos. I honelstly think that I could have taken better photos myself.

    I am using Christophers Studio and I was very pleased with the way the engagement photos turned out. We got them very quick ( in a couple of weeks).

    I used Christopher's and was happy with my experience.  I had my proofs quickly (I want to say about a month), I had pictures to include in my thank yous within a very short time after I picked them, and I was happy with my album.  Chris is laid back and not a great fit for everyone, but I was happy with my experience.

    I know, my cousin must have just had some freak experience with them because there is absolutely no way they would still be in business if all of their clients had an experience like theirs. I can only assume that Chris was not the one who took their photos and handled everything else boyond that point. Just thought I would throw it out there!!

    I am thinking about using Christophers.  He has been my favorite so far.  I appreciate the reviews!

    I went to see Christopher because of the many great reviews I read on here.  My father and I were not impressed.  The pictures were nice enough and the albums looked good but the meet and greet was bad.
    We were kept waiting quite a while as he was showing another pair of people a video.  There was no apolgy for keeping us waiting or even a 'please hold on a moment' he literally opened the door, told us to take a seat and then sat in the very next room for about 20 min. watching the video.  We had no clue what was going on.
    He also asked us 3 times during the meeting where we were getting married.
    Seemed like he was in la-la land and kind of flakey.  Ultimately we decided that although the pics were good he rubbed us the wrong way and I didn't want have any of those feelings on the day of the wedding.
