Happy Friday, Snarkies!

Morning ladies.  How are you all doing today?

I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week.  I've been asked to help host and I'm freaking out, although I'm sure everything will work out in the end.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

Morning.  Off to work and that's about as exciting as it's going to get today.

You'll be fine as a co-host.  Is it at your place or elsewhere?

I'm going to be honest.  Work doesn't sound very exciting ;-)

It's at my SIL's, which is part of where my nerves come in.  I know my place and my oven.  I don't know hers as well.

Friday made it! I wasn't so sure, especially after an afternoon and evening of parent teacher interviews!

I have drama rehearsal/prop making all weekend. Oh yeah, and the regular stuff I do every weekend like running errands and cleaning the house.

But Friday also means we get to go out for supper - to a real restaurant. One with cutlery!!!

lol - I usually do. We're a week and a half away from our school's performance in the drama festival, but DD performs this coming week. I also have her parent teacher interviews, a reception/awards presentation to attend and meetings.

At least we've alredy had Thanksgiving! Have you planned what you'll be making for the family, Bethrothed?

Will you get some down time after the show is over?

Good luck to your DD next week.

I've planned out some of it but there will be people invited that I've never met so we may have to alter some plans.  I'm pretty much doing the basics- Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, corn, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, sweet potatoes, and pies.

Hi ladies! I'm off to go get a bunch of work done on my car- routine stuff. If I don't go today, I'll put it off until after Thanksgiving, then who knows. Not looking forward to it, but trashy beach read on my kindle to pass the time.

What kind of restaurant, Jenny? I might pick my grandmother up for lunch, there's an italian place in town I've wanted to try for a while.

Yes, once this festival is over there will be a break. This one is a lot of work because the students write the script, produce, direct ... it's completely student driven. We teachers are the supervisory voice of sanity...

It will all start over again in January though, when we start prepping for competitions, but that will be a script that we choose - a more traditional type of situation.

But this festival is great - we see so much talent from all over, and groups travel from across the province to be here. It's pretty awesome, and making this hellish year much more bearable for me!

Sounds like you've got it all under control, Bethrothed!

We usually go to a family type restaurant. There aren't a lot of choices up here; couple of chains, few small family run establishments. It'll be the three of us and a couple that have become close friends since we moved up here. Looking forward to it!
B2Z, how is it up there right now for you guys?  You guys have power back, I hope?  My relatives in NJ didn't get it back for about three weeks.
    Posted by Edie Bee
<div>I'm in Northern NJ, so we're much better off than the Jersey Shore, but we had tons of trees down. On the street adjacent to me there were 8 trees down alone. We had one tree on our property fall down. It was particularly bad because it fell on a police officer who was at the wrong place at the wrong time, who was moving some barricades that had gotten blow over by the wind. Fortunately the officer survived. But the tree had to be chain-sawed apart to get him out from under it and he has had multiple surgeries because of it. We feel terrible since it was our tree. </div><div>
</div><div>Our whole town lost power. Some parts of town got it back in a couple days, but our house didn't have it restored for 2 weeks. They've lifted the gas restrictions so things are also back to normal with that too. I feel fortunate that we didn't suffer as bad as other people, but it was a rough two weeks and the recovery will continue to take a long time. </div>

Good morning ladies! I've been lurking for a few days, so I thought I'd introduce myself! I live just outside of Toronto, and am getting married in Sept 2013 at a flower farm. I have 3 cats, 2 lizards and a tiny house for my menagerie where my partner and I have lived for 5 years together. I'll be 30 next month and work with children with autism as a behavioral therapist. Funny that this board is the least 'snarky' I've seen! :-)
