Re: Tell me your.........AND COME CHAT

  • I've never grilled peaches, but now I have a strange desire to.

I think I'm going to attempt cinnamon bread tonight.  I'm feeling kind of ick and sometimes baking helps. :)

  • Here's a recipe I've used - cube some chicken breasts and wrap them with a half slice of bacon.  Alternate those with peach chunks onto a skewer and BBQ them with BBQ sauce.  Takes about 15 minutes.  It's a nice mix of salty from the bacon and sauce and sweet from the peaches

[QUOTE]I wonder if grilling watermelon would change the texture, I like the taste but can't get past the grittiness of it in my mouth.  (yea, yea, yea, insert dirty joke here)  :)

  • I haven't been to a holiday party here yet, but I imagine we don't get booze. H's company started out with giving everyone 2 drink tickets, but by the time we sat down to dinner they announced they would pick up the tab for booze for the entire night. That was awesome.

    That's awesome!

I went to a company party last year (not my company, obviously, since there are only four of us here).  We got one drink ticket, and then it went to cash bar.  The drinks were like $7-8 a pop.  No thanks, I'll get drunk at home.

[QUOTE]So the kegerator came in today (YAY!) and it's freaking HUGE. The box, anyways. Now I have to figure out where to take it to assemble and hide. MB's car is smaller than mine. Logistics. Not my strong suit obviously.

<div>Oh boy! Kegerators = awesome. FSIL is really into that. He has two. Their spare room is the 'Beer Room.' </div>

  • Mmm, peaches. I've never had grilled peaches, but I'm sure that'd be good. I just have a craving for peach cobbler now.
  • Peach cobbler is bangin', Liesel.

Dammit, I want baked goods now.

  • I'm having some peach yogurt to curb my cravings :)
  • You can peel and slice the leftovers and freeze them to make milkshakes with or smoothies for breakfast.  Greek yogurt, frozen peaches, a green banana (the flavor of ripe ones over power the other fruit) and a dash of milk or fruit juice and blend--my favorite breakfast!  .

  • Stacks, for grilled peaches I would use EVOO as butter burns really quickly on the grill and may not give the peaches enough time to get really good. I've had this problem with other fruits/vegetables.. I agree with PPs about cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and nutmeg, and would also add mace. If you really want to be different, try ras el hanout, a Moroccan spice mix. wwww.smittenkitchen.com and search peach for a lot of great peach recipes, including those awesome cupcakes.
