Gateway Clipper

Our wedding date will be Spring 2012. I have always liked the Gateway Clipper but I would like an idea of pp spend... we have already been to the fez and it seems to include "it all" at around 55$ per person (including open bar pckg) which is within our range.

Any advice on either? Or idea of pp amount at the Clipper?

Thanks!

I toured the Clipper for a Spring 2012 wedding as well but decided not to go with it.

The info they gave me shows that the cheapest package is $76/person, and that's if you use the smaller boats (guest count of 120 or less).  It's $84/pp if you use the larger boats.  That packagge includes a buffet dinner, hors d'oeuvres, the bar, cake, linens, napkins, parking, and a hotel for the bride/groom.  It's also a 4hr package, so you have to pay $650 extra if you want to add an extra hr.  They also told me that there was an $8000 food and drink minimum, but that can depend on the time of year.

    HTH!

Hi. I really wanted the Gateway Clipper too, but ultimately decided against it. The $8000 minimum is for the smallest boat. The medium sized boat has a much larger minimum. DH (and his ever-so-helpful family) for some reason did not like the Clipper and would only go for it if we had the medium boat. We figured that if we didn't have a certain number of people, the true per-person cost could be a lot more. I'm sorry I don't remember the specific numbers, but make sure you have a good idea of your guest list so you can figure what your true cost will be! Good luck! I think it would be a great place for a wedding, and I know that a girl who used to post on here a lot had a fabulous reception there!!!

Hi, I had my reception on the GC in October 2009. It looks like the minimum has gone up since then, but otherwise I'm guessing it's probably still about the same as far as what's all included. We loved the GC and had a fabulous experience! I'd be happy to share some details with you if you're interested, just send me a PM.

The Fez is a banquet hall in Aliquippa. It is very affordable in comparison to other places... around 55 pp which includes bar, linens, appetizers, cake, champagne toast, and much more. it is a bit of your "typical" banquet hall but affordability is key for me and my FI.

My wedding is there this January.  We chose the $76 menu but with the upgraded bar package.  I found the Clipper to be reasonable for the experience that my guests will have.  I love that it is downtown and will be a unique experience.  I am very excited!!

I'm also having my reception at the Gateway Clipper in June.  I wasn't able to make the tasting in November.  How was the food?  Any favorites?
