I love when people post pictures on Facebook of their Christmas trees/children/etc... but I judge them when their house is TRASHED behind it. I'm not talking a little bit of Christmas tree mess... I'm talking living in filth dirty...  I wouldn't post a picture if it was me!

So my half brother and his family didn't show up for Thanksgiving. No call, no show.   True to form.   I don't know whether to be relieved or more furious than I already was.

I chased my breakfast with a Mucinex D, 2 Tylenol and a Doxycycline. Let's hope this cocktail will chase the sickness away by Wednesday!

Being sick (especially when you can't taste anything!!) over Thanksgiving is the worst!

    Feel better girls!!

I am working off of 4 hours of sleep!! I'm dying today at work... I drove home from Houston last night and got home at 12:30. Of course I have to do twice as much work because I have to cover someone else tomorrow.

The speed limit is 55, not 35 or 40.

Our wasps are back again.  Maybe this time, the pest people will actually take the nest out instead of spraying because guess what?  WE can spray them a lot cheaper than they can.

I needed to put a supply order in and was going to do it Friday.  Crabby coworker told me something to order Thursday, then I was out Friday and found an email that she went ahead and ordered it (because apparently I can't do my job).  I'm sorry I don't have time to read a book everyday because I have nothing going on like you.

    Tiffany,
    That bites!

We went to see Bill's grandmother in Fredericksburg because she broke her hip last week.  Today, she goes to a rehab center.  My ILs couldn't be bothered to come visit her.  She's 87 and her memory is failing and she just went through some stuff with colon cancer this past summer.  Maybe it's because I'm a little sensitive about this since I recently lost my mother, but I don't understand why my MIL couldn't drag herself away from BR to go visit her own mother.  I know why my FIL doesn't want to go (he doesn't care for his wife's family) but....gosh, I'm definitely a judgmental ball today.

Don't really have a B&M today except that I cannot for the life of me think of what dessert to bring to my FM&FIL's house for thanksgiving!  His whole family is under the impression that I am some culinary master when it comes to desserts so I have to bring something wonderful.  Well, I cannot do a pie (I have some mental block that does not allow me to make good pies) and FI said a cake would be silly (even though I am known for my cakes).  Any ideas ladies?

Tell your FI if he wants a pie, he can make it.  If you are known for your cakes, go for it!  I know it would not be frowned upon at our house regardless of the holiday.  If it's good and will make you gain 5 pounds, we don't discriminate.

What about cupcakes?  Or is that too close to a cake?

Shortgirltx-  I was thinking cupcakes too...  I actually found a recipe for a pecan tassie which is essentially mini pecan pies.  I think if I tell my brain that it is not a pie I can pull it off.  We shall see...

I had a bad dream last night, about my friends being mad at me.  I was talking and crying in my sleep.

I have a ton of work I should be doing right now, but instead I'm here because I hate my job and I just want to put it off a little longer.

I have 4 vacation days left to use before Dec. 24, when our offices close.  I didn't plan early enough to use any this week, and we can't use them the week before Christmas since we're closed between Christmas and New Years... so I am going to end up having random days off, and will probably just waste them watching tv, instead of doing something fun or productive.

Meh, I'm just not in the mood for Monday I guess!!!

Sickness=boo! Hope you ladies start feeling better!

Dag-gone you Thanksgiving for shortening my month at work! I have to either work on Friday and Saturday (remotely) or put in tons of overtime before Wednesday to get our department to the numbers that we need to hit. Overtime it is, because I am NOT working during my first out-of-town holiday in 2 years.

Otherwise, all is well on this Monday morning! My Chiefs won yesterday and I'm super excited to see my parents on Wednesday.

My B&M is my whole body aches. I did some Wii Active last night in hopes to realive the enormous amount of stress I have, and it worked to some degree. My arms hurt (good sore though!) but my feet still have no feeling from working 10 1/2 hours yesterday with out one break! Fallowing that by working 50-60 hours this week too.

Tiffany - that is so rude and inconsiderate to not show up nor call.  However that should have left extra sangria for the rest of you.  How did it turn out?

Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear about both your great aunts.  That is always difficult.

Jordan - go with the cake if that is what you  can make!  My Aunt always makes cakes that look like the cover of Southern Living (and taste as phenomenal) for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  No one ever complains; they are delicious!

I say that weekly at this point.

My B&M: I have no food in the house cause I didn't want to stock a fridge before leaving town. Whatever I have left I don't want to eat. And I, too, am swallowing Mucinex and pain pills thanks to this massive sinus headache I've had since Friday (FI says the G word in Mucinex will clear that up... AFTER 7 DAYS. Ugh!)

Anyone know of any rent houses within 15 miles of the DFW Airport?  :)
