In Response to Re: SA Wednesday : I felt that way too.  There was no consistency really, whatsoever.  We did candle centerpieces which turned out really nice and saved a ton of money.... but I paid over $700 for 4 bouquets, 8 bouts, 2 large altar arrangements, and 3 corsages with tax and delivery. Posted by Tiffany618
This just seems crazy to me.

I am getting 3 bouquets, 6 bouts, 4 corsages, 10 centerpieces and 5 pomanders with tax and delivery for just a little over 1,000.  I am saving a little because half of my vases are provided by my venue but still I am pleased with the pricing I received.

I am glad I found something reasonable because if I would not have been able to scale back anymore and be happy so I would have went over budget.

I know... it is hard to swallow... however the altar arrangements were very tall and full.  I'm sure each one required more flowers and greenery than all of the individual centerpieces would have.

I will admit to not doing a lot of things DIY that I probably could have done.  I'm sure I could have taken off an extra day and done my own flowers, invitations, and programs.  But my time seemed a little more important.  And that is what you end up paying for is someone else's time.

ITA Julie.  Once I did my candy buffet boxes, I was pretty much done with DIY!

Flowers were something I was willing to pay for.  They were pretty important to me.  But I know they aren't to alot of brides.

After my wedding, I saw a picture of a candle tablescape and loved it so much I kind of wished I had went that route.  I love candles!  But it was pretty elaborate so it probably cost as much as my centerpiece.

As far as the flowers go, I'm telling you go to Tom Thumb in Grapevine and ask for Trina. For right at $400 we are getting:

1 bridal pics bouquet
1 bride bouquet
5 bm bouquets
3 gma coursages
5 boutenieers
1 mother of the groom smallish bouquet
delivery

Centerpieces we are going to DIY 25 roses in a vases on 19 tables! There are going to be smaller vases with roses in them throughout the venue too.  We ordered our flowers from Sam's for $538.

So, in all for all our flowers we are paying less then $1,000 total. I'm totally ok with this price!

I am doing my own bouquets, bouts, and centerpieces and saving a ton of money.

On another note: My wedding shoes came in the mail and they fit like a dream!! I will try to post a pic as soon as I can find my camera...

Even though we almost ended up having to DIY flowers the night before the wedding, I am so glad we didn't.

Deadline: the point in time in which something must be completed.  Not "whenever you feel like doing something."

Gosh I have office ass.  I was only able to complete 2/3's of a mile last night because my ankle freaked out.  But at least at lunch today I was able to walk almost 30 minutes and my ankle is fine.

I actually have things for AW Thursday, I'm talking actual things, not things I have to think hard about.

I actually stole this from my photographers facebook status today...but holy cow this fits my office life so well right now....

"A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part"

So help me I think I will actually say this to someone before the week is over.

This is random, but. My sister broke her hand on Monday. She is the only person I know who would accidentally kick their own hand and break it.

Last night, DH and I went out for sushi at Chaucer's in Addison, and either I have never noticed this before or it's a new thing there.. where at the strike of 10:00pm, the waitresses take their tops off and work the rest of the night in their bras.

Mind you... if you haven't been there before.. the girls are already dressed like hooter's waitresses but all in black, but then at 10pm take it to the next level.

It was kind of disturbing and grossed me out.. and I couldn't help but wonder how something like that was introduced to them.. like was it a  part of the job description???

I went last Tuesday with my MOH and noticed that, only it was a bit before 10pm... I think we were gone by 8:30 or 9.

And on top of that my service has gradually gotten worse there.

I don't get it... we love their sushi... and the Frisco one is way closer to our house but their service is well non-exsistant basically. So we decided to try Addison last night, and their service was much better than Frisco but the whole skank-attire/uniform change  just didn't do much for me.

I went to Chaucer's for the first time in Lewisville a couple weeks ago, and I thought it was the strangest place ever. It sounds like it'd be a pub, but they serve sushi, and it turns into a "club" at night. And honestly, I didn't think the sushi was that great.

Have you ever been to the Blue Fish? We go to the one at Frankford and the Tollway fairly often, it's our favorite sushi place.

Bobbi - Blue Fish has a couple locations. I'm pretty picky about sushi, too, and they are consistently good without being overpriced, IMO.

Shortgirl - I had never had sushi until I met FI, and now it's one of my favorite things. For a while we were eating sushi 3-4 times a month, but right now we can't afford to go out to eat very often. But I think we might need to splurge soon!

Kathy - What's in the Rainforest Roll? I usually avoid all rolls with the spicy icon, so that one doesn't sound familiar.
• edited December 2011
Anna, the Rainforest Roll is shrimp tempura on the inside topped with salmon/tuna with I think a spicy mayo sauce, but I didn't think it was particularly spicy.. it was yummy. :)

We love sushi.  The best I have ever had was the Surf and Turf roll at 560 and we are going back for our 1st anniversary just to get it again.

1) I have a test on friday that I have no motivation to study for whatsoever.

2) I have been craving sushi for the longest and DH and I are really sad that we haven't found a good place around us yet down here in Galveston.

3) Seriously it rains EVERY day here and I am really sick of it. And it is humid which my hair doesn't take very well so I've had my har in a ponytail 75% of the time. I'm afraid my hair will start breaking off.
