Sole tread

I bought my shoes for the wedding yesterday and I absolutely LOVE them!! However, the sole has NO tread on them and the last thing I need is to worry about is busting my tush on the dance floor (I'm clumsy enough as it is, haha). Does anyone have any idea of something I can do to add traction to the bottom on them?

Re: Sole tread

  • Scuff them up on the side walk (just put them on and walk around a bit, obviously not anywhere where you might stain them or get them dirty) or take some sand paper to them!  If you aren't comfortable doing either of those things, I think you can buy textured stickers for the bottom of your shoes, kind of like the stickers that go in your bathtub.
  • If you go to a shoe repair place they can usually add something to the sole that makes them non-slip.

I think it is really affordable to do too.
  • Oh, and if for some reason you begin dancing and realize they are still slippery, try spraying some hair spray on them.  Its temporary, but I've heard it works.
  • Keep in mind if you are doing a church ceremony you might be kneeling and people will see the bottoms. I would scuff them vs the sticker things if that's the case (you can always bring the stickers if you think you might still slip after). If there is no kneeling any of the above should work.
