Frustrated with vendors

I'm planning a destination wedding in New Orleans for December 2010.  Some vendors have been very responsive, others have been non-responsive.  Of course the non-responsive ones are the ones I'm the most interested in!

Arrrgh!  Call me back!  Send me an e-mail saying you're too busy to do my event.  Something, please!!

I had the same issue with one of my vendors when I was trying to book my reception site. I too am an out of town bride so almost everything is being done through email. It would take her a week to respond to an email, only to tell me that she was really busy and would get back to me later (annoying!)  I was even getting ready to cross them off my list and go with another hotel, even though they were my first choice.

I am happy to say that since the first 1-2 weeks she has been very responsive and I truly think it really was just a very crazy time at the hotel for her. Things got so much better in fact that I decided to sign my contract with them. Hopefully things will work out for you as well. I know it can be soooo frustrating but just hang in there!

fatgirlboo, i think we have the same hotel coordinator!  i had the exact same experience but things have definitely improved.  i'm also an out of town bride and just need to accept that wedding vendors aren't as responsive as i would like.  most vendors required me to call an email multiple times before finally receiving a response.  it is definitely frustrating but i've just tried to manage them when i can.  also seems like lots of the vendors aren't interested in signed and detailed contracts.  everything is more a contract to hold the date and they are relaxed on firming up details closer to the wedding.  i would recommend to push and get everything in writing when u initially choose the vendor.  our videographer is now trying to add $400 to our agreed upon price.  best of luck!

That is very unprofessional of your videographer! And at the last minute too..
If you need a refferal to a great local videographer that has been doing this for a long time, let me know!
    Sorry for your troubles...
