Wedding Invitations & Paper

quick question

Do the bride and groom's last names go on the invite? I didn't think they did, but I'm not sure where I might have heard that. I'm finalizing my invite design, and I just want some input from the wealth of knowledge here. Thanks.

Re: quick question

  • If the bride's parents are hosting and their names are on the first line of your invitations, you can just put your first and middle name, but the groom's full name is on the invitation.

If you say something like together with their families, both last names are used.
  • Awesome thank you. I had the designe take the last names off, and then I thought it looked funny. I appreciate you clearing that up for me.

That's the link to the invite we ordered. Those aren't our names and information, FTR. We left the wording pretty much the same, except we didn't put wedding website info on the bottom. I told the seller to go ahead and put the last names on, since neither of our parents are hosting.

ETA- for the record, we are having a pretty casual, small wedding, with only our close family and friends, about 60 people. In case anyone was going to question the formality of the invite itself.

  • I kept my last name on my invitation, bc my name is very short and my fiance's is very long. It looked like

so in my situation I felt like it looked better to have my last name on there. I know that's not usually done, but its not really an etiquette faux pas
