  • I've got a cold...ugh. My cousin has off today so no babysitting. Nothing going on today.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Yay movers to pack up your stuff!!

Right now I am picking out all the color palettes for my future dream house on Pinterest. Then I'll head to work at noon til 5:00, then volunteer orientation at a local SPCA with Kara!

  • Yay for the movers!

I am working today and trying to finish my paper.  My mom is coming in tonight so other than that nothing much.  Oh and trying to stay warm and waiting until Saturday when the high is going to be 70ish.
  • Yay movers!

My work blocked a website I need to use for WORK, that my supervisor said to use. They blocked it  because it is for personal network storage. Yes... it is... But I need it.

  • Yay moving! Hope it goes smoothly!

I've got class from 9:30 to 2 with some 10-20 minute breaks between each class. Then I'm going into work for an hour. I didn't make it in the office after my classes ended at 3 because I had to do some stuff for my car and whatnot. Brought it in yesterday to get fixed and it may be done tomorrow or Monday! YAY! But I'm really curious to see if we our quota at work or not :/ I sure hope so
  • Hope the move goes well! I can't wait to move :) I'm working today, off tomorrow with a packed weekend of MOB & flower girl dress shopping, dentist, spray tan, bridal show, Zumba class, laser hair removal, lunch with future MIL, church, and a massage to end it all! Thank God for 3 day weekends. :)

  • Yay for movers Hike!

I'm working/playing in the nursery this morning, and hopefully getting to leave at noon so I can go study for my pediatric board exam. I'm a little sad to be leaving the childrens' hospital after this week, and not really looking forward to starting 2 months of surgery.

Have you done laser hair removal before?
  • Yes this is my 5th treatment and am getting 2 areas done. It's awesome. Hurts like hell though.
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • I bought a coupon for laser hair removal on a Groupon type thing awhile ago, but never went because I couldn't afford the tips!  It was only $99 for 6 treatments, which is awesome, but yeah... can't afford to actually use it since the tips each time are like $50.  Boo!

Today I just finished my very first Etsy sale to a stranger (yay!) so hopefully he likes it!  It's a service member deployed to Afghanistan who wants to surprise his fiancee for Valentines Day with one of the long distance love map thingies.  Technically what I sold is a digital item, but since I was going to offer a 10% military discount anyway, and he just went ahead and bought it full price, I'm going to have it printed and mail it to her.  I really hope it makes her Valentines Day super special!  And now this has me thinking of my high school friend who is deployed... I think I'm going to make one for them and mail it to his wife on his behalf.

  • Oh Hike, your move is getting so close!! I'm at work right now with Riley, I brought him with me since ill be gone about 9-10 hours today and I didn't want to leave him at home alone since H is on duty today. Then later, binx and I an orientation for volunteering! Hopefully I make it on time though!
  • LetsHike - Good luck with the movers! I used to work in a HHGs office, so when I moved out here, I was annoying about the inventory, especially for the high value stuff like my computer. I'd be like "You missed a letter in the serial number in that block right there". It was tempting to just chillax and let them speedily work through everything, but dammit, I didn't want to get screwed over.

I had a good run this morning (posted about it in the GM thred on SB, so this is a repeat), where I kicked the ass of this bridge outside my office:

It looks piddly, till you get to the base of it and look up and across it and notice how much of a bitch it is.

And I've got my outfit for the half marathon, just waiting on my arm warmers to arrive:

    Gorgeous outfit!!!  That'll be fun.

And I just noticed the "South Florida" tag on your name - does that happen to be Miami?  I can't tell.  I used to train on the Rickenbacker Causeway, and it nearly killed me!  I loved that thing, though.  It's so beautiful to run around here, especially this time of year.  The weather has been absolutely perfect for running.

  • Yep, it's Miami, on the MacArthur Causeway just before Alton Rd. My workweek runs begin at the base of that bridge, I go across, take a right towards the jetty. Once I'm at the jetty, I turn left to head up the beach. About a mile of my run is on the sand (so I can strengthen my ankles) and then I'll cut on over to run through the park along Ocean, down to about 17th St. I then turn around at about the 3mi mark, double back through the park, then down 5th St back to the bridge.

My friends who are running the Half with me did the Rickenbacker last weekend and they killed it. We're running Ft Lauderdale beach this weekend (8mi) for training. I'm both excited and scared. I've never run that far in one shebang before, so we'll see if I die or not.

That's awesome!  I work right off MacArthur, also.  Not to give out too much information, but I have a clear view of it when I'm walking my dog outside my office!

I need to start running more.  Gah!

Let me know how the beach run goes!  Running on sand is really tough.

When I trained on the Rickenbacker, we'd run from Kennedy Park in Coconut Grove all the way over the Rickenbacker, turn around and run back to the tolls, turn around and run back and all the way to the Seaquarium, then all the way back to Kennedy park.  That was about 9 miles.  It's brutal, but it made the minor hills in Disney seem like a joke!

Mehgan, it's ridiculous how cute you are. REdunkulous.

Cal, I soooo want to get you to make a couple of wall pieces for us... I'm just not sure what! I'm gonna have to PM or FB you the wall I am working on at home for your thoughts. Deal? k.

Yay Hike! Good luck on the move!

As for me... H and I had a long night last night, talking about moving out of his mommas... I won't get into the details, but he basically told me that if we move out, his mom is going to think I hate her, and she's gonna be mad. Uhhhhh, WHAT?! Then she is irrational and I won't stand for that, that's what. I will apparently have to have a "talk" with her on WHY we need to move out. OMG... so THIS is why people say marriage is hard work? Ha ha!

Anyway, I'm still in a good mood this morning. I get to do a makeup class this weekend, so getting in my MUA fix is always something to look forward to :)

EDIT: I added too many words.
  • And I got a groupon too, so it wasn't that pricey at all! And to think how much I spend on razors and shaving cream, it's definitely worth it. And don't be scared, they can give you numbing cream so you don't feel it! I'm really excited to wear a bikini for honeymoon, bc I always had the worst razor bumps on my bikini line and now it's as smooth as ever!

OMFG... seriously?!  Momma needs to know her kid has grown up and gotten married!  Is there any way you can make her think it's her idea?  I'm so bold that I'd be sure to let her catch us in awkward moments, haha!

If you need to talk to her, then HE needs to do it!  He needs to tell his Mom that HE wants his privacy with his wife!  Have him tell her, and you should tell her, that you are PERFECTLY fine staying there, that you sooooo appreciate her hospitality, but since your husband wants privacy, you agreed.  Make HIM the bad guy!

And I'll of course do things for your walls!

    Hike - Yay for movers!!

I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend! I have a meeting with the RD place tonight to go over the menu and then I have to pay the deposit for FI's grooms cake I'm serving that night. It's going to be flipping awesome. We got a free one from our cake lady and I'm just going to serve that one at the wedding. This one is more special and I like the idea of serving it at the RD. Other than that I plan to go tanning and that's about it!

FI and I wouldn't be getting married if I had to live with his Mom for even a week.  Fact.

Nah, it's not worse, but since things are not looking good for the Army, we are looking into other options, like living off of loans. Living there for 4 years is NOT an option, which is what we were discussing last night. He's thinking about backing out of the Reserves, and his recruiter is basically saying that the Army scholarship  is not looking good at this point. I told H that he can try the Navy, which offered him the opportunity just yesterday, with the same perks, but I think he is jaded by everything that he's already had to do, and is afraid that it will be for nothing again. Sighhhh....

Cali - Thats awesome, yay for your first sale!!

CAB - I'm sorry you guys are dealing with so much with your H trying to get this scholarship and join. I can't imagine how frustrating it is for you both. The Navy isn't bad :) and they needed dentists too. But I can totally get how your H is upset about it, especially if the Army is his dream. I know personally, if they offered him the same thing I would encourage him to take it and go for it. BUT I can completely see how he is concerned about running into the same ordeal - essentially couldn't he pursue both aspects and then decide on one in the end? Just sort of thinking outloud. But I really do hope things get better/easier for you two soon!! Positive and good thoughts heading your way!

Thanks amh! Yeah, it's hardddd... I really want him to pursue the Navy, but it's gonna take some convincing. I don't want to force him into something, either. I just don't know. I am getting to the point where I just wanna say duck it and let him do whatever he wants. But I just know it won't make us happy in the long run. How do I be a supportive wife, and help guide him in the right direction at the same time? It's seems like an impossible task at this point.
(Yes, I meant to say duck. HA!)
  • Oh Cab, I could never live with my ILs as much as I love them. H and I are used to having our own space and drama.usually arise from these situations. I hope you 2 find a place of your own. And best of luck to your H on.what he wants to do. If he goes Navy, we'll be Navy wives sisters! ;)
