Snarky Brides

Indulge my neurosis.

So...I think that I have everything done that I could conceivably have done at this point. Seating chart is done, master list is made and printed off. RD menus printed. Signs for guestbook and bar are printed. Escort cards are done. Vendors are all confirmed. Final payments and tips are in labeled envelopes. My bag is packed for the weekend (well except makeup and hair stuff and toiletries that I'll need in the meantime). My boxes of wedding junk are packed up, labeled, and ready to go. All my DIY is done. So WHY does this make me feel like I HAVE to be forgetting something? Am I?

Did you guys forget anything or not think of something?

  • I forget something every day of my life and I somehow managed not to forget anything the day of my wedding. I was AMAZED. I'm sure you'll be juuuuuuuust fine :)

  • I have no words of wisdom as I always forget everything but I think you're pretty well set!  I just wanted to say I'm so excited for you and I can't wait to see wedding pics!!

Where are you going for the weekend?

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • You forgot to drink a BIG glass of wine.
    Wedding jewelry?
    Getaway car?
Someone to drag all the gifts etc. back to your house after?

That's all I could come up with off the top of my head.

You sound like you're super organized. I'm sure you have everything you need in order. I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see some pictures! Laughing

  • I forgot a hair tie, H forgot his cufflinks. Those were the only things we didn't bring. Your list sounds pretty good. Maybe make sure you have a list of phone numbers you may need the day of, like vendors, just in case? Other than that I think you're ready.

    3 days! That's exciting.
  • Ha, I'm the same way, LC.  That's why I have lists coming out my ears.

Sherr, just staying in the city our wedding is in (it's not where we live).

Missy....what addresses?  For the venue?  GOOGLE WOMAN!  Just kidding.

My dad has my jewerly, BK, my car is my getaway car (so I forget that, I'll miss the whole wedding ;) ), and we'll be schlepping our own gifts.  Maybe with help from FILs.

You sound like your all set. Honestly if you have forgotten something at this point you probably don't need it that much.
  • You're fine, J :)

I wish I could bottle up some of the attitude that I was exhibiting three days before my wedding and send it to you.  It was "everything I've done is fine, and I just don't giveafuck anymore."  When I stopped worrying it was wonderful.

Your wedding will rock.  Now RELAX :)

You'll be fine!  I felt like that, too.  I did forget to drop off the favors to the venue until just before the RD,  but that was it...until I forgot my jewelry and H's wedding gift to me at the hotel after the wedding.

You're going to feel like that no matter what, J.  Just roll with it.  You'll be fine.  You'll be more than fine.  You'll be gorgeous and I can't wait to see pictures!!

Excellent idea, and something I had thought about fleetingly and forgot to write down, so isn't done yet.  I'll do that at work tonight.  Thanks!

  • Snack bag?  I had a bag of totally unlikely to stain the dress snacks to munch on right before the ceremony.  It was a lifesaver since I was so excited, i hadn't eaten breakfast.
  • Yay! I wish I would've written out a rough itinerary for the two days before my wedding, I had no idea they would fill up with errands so fast.

Besides that, RELAX. Try to think of things that relax you/help you sleep and do them all the night before the wedding. Pick out your favorite snacks and drinks and have those on hand, they help :)

A flask? :) Good thing my brother has great memory skills and remembered to bring it.

Actually, I forgot our recessional music and didn't remember until halfway through the ceremony. By that point I was like "fuuck the music, I'm almost murried!"

It sounds like you've got pretty much everything covered and organized. Take some time to relax!
  • Emergency bag?  Extra earring backs (needed these!), aspirin/tylenol, Pepto, sewing kit, dental floss, mints....

YES, PHONE LIST. Or two. Or three. Extra copies of vows!

I lost my cell phone the night before the wedding and my phone list saved me. I would just hand it to my BM and say, text this number and ask where they are!

ETA: a clean towel to set on the cars, logs, and benches you will want to sit on for pictures?

  • I don't have any advice J, because, well, I'm 4.5 months out.

But I think you're wedding day will be fabulous and you should just try to relax and take it all in. If you are forgetting anything at all, sometimes it's best to sit back and let it come to you. I know when I'm trying really hard to remember things, I never do until I just stop thinking about it for a bit.
  • OK, then NAME - I forget!!

  • OMG! 3 DAYS!

You didn't forget anything really important. The towel idea was a good one, though. Just think, you have 3 days to relax! Sweet!

Safety pins! I had to search high and low for them (and ended up finding them at the grocery store), but we ended up needing them for one of my bridesmaids dress and my aunt's dress.

Comfy shoes. I ended up wearing my boots all day because I decided I didn't want to wear the heels because they weren't really "me".

Extra ribbon/paint/glue etc. Whatever you used for your DIY stuff, in case anything falls apart in transit.

I'm really excited for you! Have fun this weekend and enjoy the time with your new husband!

  • It sounds to me like you've got everything. It's probably just nerves that's making you feel like you're forgetting something.

True story:  Me and MOH left our bouquets in the hotel room (down the road from the venue). A freind went to get them which put everything 15 minutes behind schedule, but it did't really matter once I started drinking  :P
