[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Traditions that you don't agree with : Nope, I'd never pay a 1000dollars or more on a dress! And I'll happily trash my much cheaper one after the wedding, I certainly don't plan on wearing it again and it sounds like a fun day! Luckily, I don't believe in bad luck!

<div>I'm with jak on this one. I think it's disrespectful and rude, especially if you didn't pay for it. If you did, you can theoretically do whatever you want with it. But why not do something useful like DONATE IT? If nobody in my family wants to use my dress I'll be donating it. I'd rather it end up in the hands of somebody who would appreciate it, and not become some sugar high adult-child's fun finger painting project lolz. </div>

Disrespectful to who? Rude to who? Are you serious?

Yes, I'm paying for it myself, and like all property of mine it's up to me what I do with it. It's affects absolutely no one else so it's ridiculous to call it rude.

What's rude is telling people what they can and can't do with their own stuff. If I want to use something I've paid for to have a day of 'silly' fun with my husband taking photos then I fail to see why anyone else would care.

I assume you also think it's rude to throw away anything you own without donating it then? Since you seem to think that's the only reasonable thing to do with something you own?

    Absolute nonsense.

Never told you what to do, just giving my opinion on dress trashing. Of course you can do whatever you want with your own things. <div>
</div><div>And yes, if you want to get rid of something (that's still usable) I think you should see about donating it first before pitching it. Not doing so, to me, says a lot about a person. There are a lot of people who could benefit from donated clothing, furniture, and wedding dresses. Purposefully trashing one of your belongings that could have been used by another person that's not as well off as you are is rife w/ indulgent excess that completely turns me off.
