Has anyone been following Bradley Manning's case?

Pfc Manning is facing 22 charges associated with leaking hundreds of thousands of intelligence documents from DoD, Iraq and Afghanistan. Clicky for an article on the pre-trial hearing.

Last weekend we couldn't get out onto the main road near our apartment because people were protesting on the base near us. Has anyone else heard or seen anything? I wonder if it's just a local uproar near me?

I think I saw something on the news about this. I think it was an interview with his father? Isn't there some assumption that he is gay or something? I'm just so shocked that WikiLeaks published that stuff... and that it was so easily accessible to him. Security Clearance or not..

I just found out about it because I saw the preview for the Lifetime movie staring Rob Lowe (who I normally find pretty dreamy, but he's gross looking in that movie).
