Finally!!!

We finally applied for our marriage license today!  Yay!  Iowa (where our ceremony is) has a 3 day waiting period so I cant pick it up until Thursday morning & they wont mail it to us so I have to make the 60 minute round trip drive again.  We also finally ordered our wedding cake!!!  Its my dream cake and I am so excited about it.  Its the pic in my siggy but with a pink flower instead of white and buttercream frosting instead of fondant.  I am soooooo in love with it and the place we are getting it from has AMAZING cake!

    Thats awesome that you were able to apply for your license. I was hoping to do that Thursday with my FI but it's the only night my seamstress had open. So I guess waiting another week for us.

    Good for you! We still have to apply for our license (In Iowa, too) The hardest part for us is getting someone to come with us as a witness... that should be the easiest thing, but all of our family and friends live on the other side of the state :( Hopefully someone comes and visits us soon!

    I see you're from Omaha. You know what I love about Omaha? The Zoo! My favorite place in the world. I'd get married there if it wasn't such an inconvenience with our families. I'm so jealous you live there! I live about 3 hours away from Omaha.

    And that cake is Gorgeous!

    Yeah, it doesn't have to be the MOH or BM, just someone (friend or family) that knows you. But that's all you need, plus the regular paperwork, and like $30. I don't remember how much exactly.

    thats exciting!!! <3 woot woot!!

    I need to apply for that at the of this week or next week...the license is only good for 30 days in MI...so I will wait until next week to do it, so we're able to take it to the courthouse on Monday after the wedding!

    <div>It was hard for us to coordinate to have someone come with us to get our license too!  You could always ask some random person at the courthouse, that person doesnt have to sign the day of the wedding I guess.  We thought about getting married at the Zoo but the aquarium was closed and we didnt know if it would be open again by July and thats where we would have done the ceremony.  Of course, it opened in time but we had already found a venue and paid our deposit.  I LOVE the zoo too and so do my kids.  We buy a pass every year!  Did you hear that it was just announced as the Number 1 Zoo in the country!  Its super awesome, so I am not surprised!  Where in Iowa do you live? Just curious.  We are going to a bed and breakfast in Carrol Iowa for our honeymoon!</div>

    It was $35 for us.  I think its harder to get one in Iowa now bc they allow same sex marriages so the process was made more difficult.  I think it sucks that they decided to make it more difficult for people to get married just because they are the same sex.  I am totally for same sex marriage though, my own little brother is gay. The whole witness thing can be a pain bc you have to have someone who will say that they know both of you and they have to come in person!

    Lol, finding a random person... That's not a bad idea! I had heard that the zoo was ranked number one! Doesn't surprise me. We try to go there every summer, but probably not this year, because of the wedding. I get so excited when the zoo is mentioned on tv or in the movies! Of course I know where Carol is, but I've never been. We live in a small town in northwestern Iowa called Storm Lake. It's about an hour south of okoboji
