  • Our theme is rainbow :)
  • Sounds adorable and fun!

We don't have an official theme, but we do have a sparrow motif running through many of our decorations, since my FI's last name means "little sparrow" in Polish.  (Fittingly, my last name is a version of calling someone "love" in Italian!). We created a monogram incorporating images of two sparrows, and are using it on our stamps, website, program, and thank you cards. We also got these little sparrow table name card holders that my MOH predicts will all be stolen by the end of the reception because they are so cute!  So I suppose in a sense our theme is "little sparrows."

  • awww! these are cute. one suggestion i've made to SO is that we have little 'critter pairs' around the reception because we have them all over our house. for example, we have bird salt and pepper shakers and a pair of hedgehogs by the tv and a pair of owls in some artwork, etc. we're not engaged yet though so i have no idea what we'll actually do.
  • My theme is:
I'm gonna get married and then I'm going to drink a lot of booze"

But seriously, I'm getting married on a rooftop in Vegas. The setting kinda sets the theme. No more work needed from me.
  • we have no theme in particular. we do have a running "bunny" motif though :)

<div>Never thought I would find anyone with the same theme:) When people ask what our theme is I always say party. It's all about dancing, eating some good food and drinking. </div>

Yeah. When I was filling out my contract with my photographer, I had to put the theme of my wedding and I was like "ummm, the theme is <em>wedding</em>" I just want to have a fun party for everyone who traveled to join us.

Of course, I'm also the laziest bride ever. I've just started thinking about decor and centerpieces. I figure if I ply my guests with enough booze, they won't care.
  • Our theme is "celebrating us" we're a little weird, we're gamers, love comics etc So the bridesmaids will have super hero headbands that I'm making, the guys buitneers (sp?) will be made from super hero buttons, our cake toppers are mario & peacgh and grooms cake will be his choice nerd, rehersal dinner will include Rockband 3, I'm walking down the aisle to a Halo 3 track. But those are all interlaced with more traditional things. Idk, I'm excited! :)
  • We're having a very music themed wedding. I guess it's mostly rock and roll themed, I can't wait to see how all of my plans come together! Check out my bio if you want to see some of my awesome details.
  • We are having a Sci-fi theme with Doctor Who and Star Wars.  We are so nerdy.

As of yet, we aren't having a theme. Once we actually have a venue set though, I might play around with a tea party, picnic and/or vineyard type theme. We shall see though.

  • We don't have a theme, but we are using bright colors and doing a non-traditional reception.

  • Short, sweet, inexpensive and simple. ;-). No colors. Outside at a lighthouse. Pizza party afterwards with booze and a bonfire.

  • We don't have a theme per se (although we did toy with an Alice in Wonderland theme).  Our wedding's just going to be kind of quirky and whimsical, like us.

  • We had a ballroom dance theme (Wedding was in a historic ballroom, we did a showstopper first dance, named the tables after ballroom dances).

This sounds so nice!  Ugh, I would LOVE to do something like this with the bonfire and location but EVERYWHERE in/near Chicago has a price tag and it's high :(

  • We're having a Halloween wedding, theme being- HALLOWEEN! We are having a costume party for a reception and there's nothing normal about our wedding. My dress is black and red and burlesque inspired, complete with top hat and a parasol. He's going for the more ganster look with black suit and red vest and tie with a red fedora. Some one asked me what I'm going to be for Halloween this year, I said " A Bride!".
  • Our vibe is very vintage and country chic.  We're having the ceremony and reception in a barn that is located outside of a german colony from the mid 1800's.  Initially when the wedding was in the spring it was going to be all about retro polka dots and rockabilly, but we had to move the wedding to the fall due to the barn being double booked so that throws my cute polka dots out the window, but I'm very excited to see how this turns out.

  • Our theme is Shakespeare and Epic Fantasy/Adventure.  We're getting married in a beautiful historic community theatre (where we met) so our invites are going to be theatre tickets and the programs will look like theatre programs.  Here's our "production notes" section from the program that explains the themes we are using:

It was very important as we began the planning process that this day be unique and creative for us as well as for you, our honored guests.  Our relationship began with a conversation about theatre, and as we got to know each other better, we discovered mutual loves for many other things, including the inspirations for this ceremony and reception - Shakespeare and epic fantasy/adventure.  But our most important discovery was the mutual love, admiration, and respect we have for each other, which is what we are here to celebrate today!

The Shakespearean influence is woven into the bride and bridesmaids apparel, using ethereal styles and material to create a "Midsummer Night’s Dream" effect, all the way down to the “beautifu fairy” flower girl and the “mischievous sprite” ring bearer.  You will also hear some Shakespearean language in the ceremony readings and as part of the vows, and the reception inside the theatre is an enchanted forest, also inspired by "A Midsummer Night’s Dream."  Make sure you check out the titles of the food at the reception for another Shakespearean surprise.  The wedding colors are also a nod to Elizabethan times, when brides and grooms often served peacock as part of the feast.  We did not want to serve peacock, but their brightly colored feathers created a perfect color scheme.

Epic fantasy/adventure is reflected mostly in the music choices.  Pre-ceremony music and some other special moments are accompanied by songs from our favorite epic movies and TV shows.  See if you can identify them!  We thought it was fitting to begin our married life together with music that accompanies our favorite adventures, because we are embarking on our own epic adventure here today!
  • A Shakespeare wedding!  Sweet!

</div><div>We don't really have a theme but I collect/grow succulents and we both love them, so we're using them for our centerpieces and have them on the invitations. I also ordered a succulent stamp from etsy that I'll put here & there.</div><div>
</div><div>But yeah, pretty much my theme is "drink and embarrass myself on the dance floor" and FI's theme will be "stand on the edge of the dance floor with friends, making fun of Dawn." It's our regular theme when we go to bars. </div>
