Tell me your weirdest dreams

On the way to work, I was listening to the radio and they were talking about how certain foods affect their dreams. There were some crazyass stories.

When I was in grammar school, I had a dream about that movie The Leprechaun.  He was terrorizing everyone and I had to kill him. I FINALLY was able to grab him and started to strangle him, only to look down and see a tiny black kitten. I was killing the kitten instead. It was the single most disturbing dream I've ever had and I woke up crying. I actually dreamed it a second time, as an adult.

What are yours?

Re: Tell me your weirdest dreams

  • I have dreams about Tory dying in really awful ways that make me want to hurt the world. Most recently, I had a dream that I was at a drive in movie with Dr Will from Big Brother but we were in a foreign country. Then I was suddenly riding a one handled bicycle to a corner market at my old college campus, and it was a Barbie bike. Very random.

  • I had a really weird dream recently, and I've had dreams similar to this one.

I was at the beach, except it wasn't like... I dunno, a real beach?  It was like this big square, with the sand and the ocean in the square.  And the waves were HUGE.  And we were trying to get away from the waves.  There were a ton of cruise ships in the water and the waves were knocking them over and tipping them every which way.  A wave pushed a cruise ship up toward shore and to avoid getting swept away, I jumped onto the cruise ship and ran through this room on the top of it and then jumped back out onto the beach.  Yeah it was weird.

I once had a dream that my sisters and I were running through a house with windows and doors in all sorts of weird places - the corners, c/ck-eyed, windows at the floor or in the floor.  And the house had like fire escape type paths all around the outside of it.  We were running through the windows and doors and around the paths to get away from some maniac who was chasing us with a giant vacuum cleaner.  Then one of my sisters fell behind and the vacuum cleaner ate her.

  • I tend to have really long complicated dreams where I'm either running from something or trying to get somewhere in time. The latest weird one involved Alec Baldwin and I going to my high school then to the jungle, then London and then Paris. And then I'm pretty sure we had to escape by jumping into the English channel? I have no idea where that came from, haha. I've never had the same dream twice.
  • About 9 months before the wedding, I had a dream that we couldn't find any of our dresses (mine or the BMs).  Where the brides room was in the dream, I could see the church (from the side) but nobody could see me.  My girls decided to walk down the aisle in hula skirts and coconut bras, while I watched on helplessly.  Then, they came back around the side and had two dresses for me.  One fit perfectly but was compeltely see through, the other was 5 sizes too big and had emerald green trim on it (not one of my wedding colors).  Then I woke up.

I also had a dream once that H and my MOH decided they were madly in love and were going to run away together.

Another one, that isn't necessarily weird, but actually nice.  A week before gpa passed away, I had a dream that I was talking to him (a much younger him) and he was giving me a huge hug.  He told me he loved me, and that he was going home now.  There was a huge white light behind him.  I had pushed it out of my head figuring it was just me having another strange dream.  But then he passed away abuot a week later, so I kinda wonder if there was more a deeper meaning behind it
  • Ahh scary vacuum cleaner killer! Weird. Dreams are so crazy. I can only imagine how much fun our subconsciouses have with fucking around and slapping together random images.

  • I remember having a dream about our wedding that involved my wedding dress being canary yellow and lots of rain.  I was all, "Oh my dress is bright yellow?  No big deal!  I'll just look like big bird, he's cool!!"

  • Oh, wow.  Lots.  I tend to have a lot of dreams about being chased, or about seeking someone/something.   I've mentioned before that melatonin amplifies the weirdness.

As a child I dreamed the Statue of Liberty was chasing me.  Recently I dream about trying to find people.  The most awkward (recently) involved my boss, a coworker/friend, a hotel room in a small town, and a prostitute.  Yeah.  Let's just say I didn't want to talk to the boss the next day.  Ick.

Two nights ago I dreamed I was at an outdoor camping family reunion with Paul Newman and a whole bunch of people I didn't recognize (but they were family in the dream, including a black woman and her teenage son).  Paul and I shared his breakfast and I told him the wi-fi password to get online at the campground.

When I was pregnant I dreamed I had a litter of puppies instead of a baby.

  • When I was a kid I had a dream I was being chased through the streets at night by a swarm of bats - some with green eyes some with red.  I knew that red-eyed bats were evil but the green were good for some reason.  I blame this dream for my fear of all things vampire for some reason.

More recently was a dream that I was in my sisters house (but in the dream it was mine) and lions were circling the house, occasionally ramming doors and windows.  I had iron bars that lowered over all the windows except I forgot one and a lion came crashing through and that's when I woke up.

  • I would cry if I had dreams about Bax dying.

Chels, I had some weirdass wedding dreams, too. In one, no one would get ready and I ended up running through traffic to the church with half-wet hair.  In another one, I was wearing an awesome black dress, but it wasn't alterred correctly. Then, the aisle was all zig-zagged and I almost fell. After that, N's family were all drinking in church and I had to scream at them. It was insane.
  • I had lots of fucked up wedding dreams.  I'm glad those are long gone, lol.

  • I dreamt last night I had an affair with Lamar Odom.... I was watching the Kardashians before bed. I'm not even remotely attracted to him so I don't get it.

Other than my recurring car crash dream, I haven't been dreaming a whole lot lately.

When I do dream I have a lot of nightmares, though.  I'm always being chased/killed/kidnapped... or H dies.
  • 2 weeks ago I had a dream I was pregnant... and I was excited. I guess that's more like a nightmare.

I have dreams at least once a week about tornados but the scenario is always different. The weird part is I am always somewhere that I think is my home, but none of the homes in the dreams are actually my IRL home.
  • I legitimately chuckled at the image of the statute of liberty chasing someone. I have ridiculous amounts of dreams where I'm not ready in some way for a dance performance. Either I don't have a costume, or makeup, or I for some reason don't know the dance. I have those dreams so many freaking times.

  • I have a couple, both happened when I was kid:

the backstory on it is I was looking for something in my room and searched everywhere (I mean I think it was just a special pair of socks or something stupid but I seriously looked everywhere) and then I had a dream where I was looking through a drawer and saw myself pull out the socks in the dream. The next morning I went right to that drawer and there they were.

The weirdest I have ever had was a lucid dream. I rolled over to one side and immediately fell asleep, and it was scary- basically on my school bus with Zombies. So I slapped myself awake in the dream. I basically was able to enter and exit the dream by rolling over on one side to start sleeping/dreaming and alternately slapping myself awake. It happened 3-4 times. Also, it didn't happen in the middle of the night, the lights in my room were still on and I hadn't gone to sleep for the night yet.
  • I'm so glad my wedding dreams are done> I had so many bad ones.

    Right? Lol

Your beach dream reminded me--the other night, N woke me up because he had a bad dream. Then I went to sleep and dreamed that he was a doctor and we were on a beach, but there were HUGE killer sharks.  I woke him up to tell him. WTF does that even mean?
  • Oh, the wedding dreams.

We got to the church (not our actual venue) and the guests were all assembled and waiting for the ceremony to start, about 3 hours early.  They were getting mad and leaving because we weren't ready.  I didn't have flowers, rings, shoes, or our WP there.

  • Ded at the statue of liberty.

Zombie dreams are scary. Anything where they outnumber you is terrifying to me.

Mara, I've been having pregnancy dreams lately, too. I guess it's not that surprising, but weird.
  • haha totally agree about the wedding dreams.terrible!
  • I had weird wedding dreams, too.

I don't think I've ever dreamed about anyone dying, thank God. I would hate that. I can handle my weird, random dreams, but a realistic one would be awful.

Yeah, the statue of liberty one was so weird.  She was chasing me through city streets, between tall buildings, torch in the air, and I was looking over my shoulder in a panic.  I mean, how fast can she really go that I couldn't get away?

  • Les, the litter of puppies cracks me up.

  • I always have pregnant dreams.  I am always VERY pregnant in the dreams and I can feel how hard my belly is.  It's not fun.

I'm one of those people that wants kids but has no desire to be pregnant.  So yeah, pregnancy dreams are definitely more like nightmares.

I've done that before too. In the middle of a bad dream (or even not bad ones) I realize I'm dreaming.  If it's particularly bad, I force my eyes open.  It's strange.
  • Chels, I think the one about your Gpa has more meaning than just a dream.

  • OH MY GOD, I just remembered one of the worst dreams ever that I had when I was maybe 14 years old.

My family and I were all dead, and we were floating above ground in one of my dad's fields near our house.  Then God came to take us all to Heaven.  We were all lined up, oldest to youngest, and God just kind of went down the line and told each of us we were ready to go - until he got to my favorite (and yes I have a favorite, lol) sister.  He was like, "Oh, yeah I'm sorry.  Not you."  Then he told my last sister she was good to go and then it was time.  I was like WTF WHY CAN'T SHE COME?  SHE IS THE MOST AMAZING OF ALL OF US?  THIS IS SO MESSED UP!!  And then I woke up and I was crying like really hard.  It was so disturbing to me, lol.

  • A couple months ago I had a dream that some how I had a baby hippo and I was keeping it in our bath tub to hide it from FI. I don't know why I would pick the tub since you know he has to shower in it everyday but that was super secret hiding spot.

Me too. When the whole family was together before/after the funeral, we discovered that a handful of us got signs from him within a day or two of him passing. It was so cool :)  It's so comforting knowing he's watching over us.
  • Ahhh god, the wedding stress dreams were the worst.  I had a recurring dream that it was suddenly the day of the wedding and I had forgotten to a bunch of stuff.  It was different every time but the dream would always start at some point on the day of with me rushing to get ready and realizing I had dropped the ball on half the wedding planning.

The weirdest most recent dream I can remember is dreaming that I was being pulled from my bed by a demon.  He was grabbing my foot and slowly pulling me off the bed and I was trying to yell at him to stop but I couldn't find my voice.  I think I finally woke from the dream when I was able to yell at him to stop.  I'm pretty sure the dream was brought on by watching or talking about scary movies.
