Female Groomsmaid

My FI has asked his sister to stand on his side of the wedding ceremony. I am very excited about this, but it has brought up so many questions that I had never considered. Two that I need help with now:

1.) What color should she wear? Should she match the bridesmaids or should she wear the same style dress in black to match the other groomsmen?

2.) Should she carry a bouquet or wear a corsage? Should it be a female wrist corsage or a pinned on corsage like the men will be wearing?

If anyone has pictures of a wedding with a female attendant stand on the groom's side, I'd really appreciate seeing them!

    My Fi has a friend who will be doing this too.  We will be having her in black, with a corsage.  However thats just our choice, my sister had men BM and they matched the GM.

    1) She can wear either or.  Black is usual though.

    2) Ask her what she'd prefer.

    I say:
    black or dark colored dress
    either corsage or bouquet, whichever she prefers
    I think the pictures with her on the grooms side are adorable!

    I'm having Men of Honor, so I can definitely relate!

    Thanks, lalap! Seeing those pictures kind of put my mind at ease. We are very tradiational and I was worried (ok, really HE was worried) it'd look funny to have a woman on his side... but mlee is right, they look great!

    My FI has someone he wants to ask. The guys are wearing gray suits. She is going to wear the same dress as the BMs in gray, and carry a bouquet.

    That sounds pretty, xoxob!  I've never seen it done with gray suits before.  You will, of course, have to post pictures after the wedding. :)

    We're planning on having mixed gender sides also.  However, instead of black dresses right now I'm thinking that I'd like the GWs to wear navy to match the GMs vests.  (The BMs will be wearing a different colour.  I don't like the GMs and BMs to match exactly because I'm weird like that.

    I didn't want the groomsmaids to wear black, so we are putting my girls in one of our wedding colors and his girls in the other.
