Nubble Lighthouse

Hello to all,

I am getting married August 24, 2013. I'm an older women and want to get married at the Nubble Lighthouse. I have written to the city of York, but have not heard back.

Can anyone tell me if I have to have a permit to get married at the Nubble? I know I cannot reserve it, but I still feel very strongly about getting married there. I live in Michigan and visited the Nubble and was taken by its beauty and history. I know there are alot of Lighthouses in Michigan, but this one has stolen my heart.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

i would ask the ladies on the local board for Michigan <---------- this is an international board so im not sure about your specific questions.

Hey, I live near Detroit and also LOVE Nubble LIght house! We were just there this past August and it was my husband's first trip to Maine and York Beach. We stayed with a friend in Shapleigh.

Your best bet would be to ask this question on the Portland Maine local wedding board. There may be brides there who know about it. York is pretty much a tourist town, and it's probably not really busy right now, so the town staff may be working less hours.

There is a restaurant right next to the parking area across the inlet from the lighthouse. They might allow you to use their grassy area. If you are getting married during the high tourist season, it may be tough to do anything right near the lighthouse because the parking lot was packed when we went.
