Where's your venue?

Ok - I'm sure this has been discussed millions of times, but where is your wedding venue and reception?? I've been searching TONS and finally chose Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club for both my ceremony and reception!

    Old Red Museum for Reception--we looked at Sky Creek Ranch before our guest list ballooned to 300 and really loved it. Good choice! Are you going to put candles in those beautiful windows?

    I almost booked La Buena Vida!  The first lady I worked with wasn't very helpful and I finally got so frustrated with it, I didn't do it.  It's a beautiful site though.  I'm a Grapevine local.

    Yes!! The wedding coordinator puts LED candles all in the windows.  I am so excited... that's what made me chose Sky Creek Ranch!

    We got married at The Wildwood Inn in Sept. 08.  Awesome venue and we rented out the whole B&B for the night, so the next morning our families were able to have brunch together and we got to hang out a little bit.  It was pretty neat.

    Both ceremony & reception at The Filter Building on White Rock Lake.  Outdoor ceremony if the weather will cooperate.

    We got married at the Melrose hotel--it was the hotel my husband and I went to for drinks after dinner on our first date.

    bsn, the first lady I talked to was probably the first lady you talked to too. I'm the kind of person that I will go over your head if you aren't treating me very good, so I did just that and was able to things done the way I wanted. Which by the way, wasn't crazy like I was lead to believe!

    Yes!! The first lady was so mean to me!  She told me that some of the things I was requesting were "not classy".... like I was asking about having a keg at the wedding rather than buying bottles of beer (which, have to be poured into a cup by the way... just like keg beer)... and said that my wedding would look like a fraternity party!! How rude.  I had a lady name Haley contact me shortly after the first girl left, and she was very sweet... but I had already booked my venue.  Do you mind me asking what the cost is for LBV?  It seemed so expensive with the quotes I was getting from the first lady.  You can private message me if you don't want to post it... or you can tell me I'm totally being too nosey!

    Our ceremony will be at our church (Eastminster Presbyterian) and the reception will be at Cityplace.  So excited :)

    bsn, after reading your post I KNOW you talked to Kristy. I did too, and then talked to Haley and she was wonderful. Talking to her is what made my final decision to book with them.  With catering, linens, wine, champagne, bar fee, cake cutting fee, chairs, fire pits, LED lights, the whole thing, we're right at $7,000. BUT, it would be more if it weren't for my excellent haggling skills (is I do say so myself)!

    Yes ma'am I did.... Kristy.  UGH.  She was not nice at all... which is awful b/c I had envisioned having the wedding at La Buena Vida, I was so excited... then when she started ignoring emails, insulting my taste and just being downright rude... I chose elsewhere.  Haley was so sweet, and I still may have my rehearsal dinner there!
