Any DFW brides using Sprinkles Cupcakes?

I love these... they are the best cupcakes I've ever had in my life. I've been to one cupcakes-in-lieu-of-wedding-cake wedding, and I can't imagine any better options. Tons of flavors, no cutting necessary... everyone's happy.

I have been to the Sprinkles website, but there's not a ton of info about ordering cupcakes for a wedding, nor is there a contact e-mail. I planned to just go down there and talk to someone, because it would give me an excuse to buy a cupcake or twelve... but I thought I'd check to see if anyone else had had any experiences with Sprinkles in the meantime.

I was hoping to find out things like...

Do they offer special pricing for orders of say, 150 cupcakes? (or, I guess, 144, if we need to buy them in dozens)

Can you get out-of-season flavors, or off-day flavors, if you're ordering them way in advance? Like... we're considering a Friday/Sunday wedding, but I might cry if I can't have lemon cupcakes-- they are probably my favorite ever.

Are there additional fees for delivery of large orders?

Are there additional fees for changing the decorations?

I read somewhere on the internet that people weren't happy with their wedding services... but this is one of the few things I'm going to be a little picky about. By golly, our guests will feast on the finest cupcakes the DFW area has to offer.

Anyway, any experiences or advice or clues about who to speak to when trying to find information would be tremendously appreciated!

While Sprinkles is great there are SO many other options out there to consider. Hopefully others will chime in with other places but off the top of my head, there is Society Bakery, The Cupcakery, Tart, Dimples and a whole lot more.

It's been nearly 2 years since I searched for our cake/cupcakes so I'm probably out of date but they didn't offer any special price, the price would have been the price per dozen. And they did not deliver.

I wouldn't recommend Sprinkles cupcakes at all. Society Bakery is by FAR better than Sprinkles, and I don't think you would disappointed if you went with Society. Sprinkles will likely leave you disappoined. Their cupcakes are generally really dry, and especially since they will be making your wedding cupcakes ahead of time, you can count on them being dry. HTH

ITA and also Society does wedding cakes so they are experienced with weddings. IMO a better choice.

Just going to chime in with my choice: Texas Star Bakery.
They are doing my cupcakes and have some pretty cool flavors (I'm a wedding-(cup)cake bride, too) - and I just ADORE their cakes (my family uses them for almost all birthdays, events,etc). Like mentioned about Society, they also do weddings so they do deliver, have a cupcake tree for rent, etc (and have experience and good reviews on doing weddings)

I'm using the Flour Shop in Highland Village. She hasn't opened shop officially(June), but i've tasted her cakes at baby showers and such and they are pretty amazing!

I will say this about sprinkles... my FAV is their peanut butter ones

I went to sprinklers for the first time a few months ago, and like pp, was NOT impressed!! But this is in comparison to the cupckaries I'm used to in DC, so must...hunt...down society!!

I'd like to echo the other posters. Sprinkles is really not good. I was so excited to go for the first time and I was sorely disappointed.

Society or the Cupcakery, hands down.

I mean, I like Sprinkles cupcakes.

What I don't like is that they make cupcakes I could make at home, whereas Cupcakery has a revolving door of unique flavors.

Also, I am strongly opposed to useless things on my food, and Sprinkles puts that stupid dot that I think is supposed to be candy, but when I bit into it I thought it was a piece of wood. Definitely don't like the sensation of chewing on wood when I'm supposed to be enjoying a sweet treat.

Awww... so much Sprinkles hate.

I have never been anything but impressed by their cupcakes. I've been to a few other bakeries, in Dallas, San Diego, and DC that specialize in cupcakes... but I guess I'm a Sprinkles loyalist. I didn't like the icing anywhere nearly as much as I liked the icing at Sprinkles.

I will, however, in the interest of research and possibly an excuse to eat more cupcakes, look up the shops you've suggested and give them a chance if they're within a reasonable driving distance (I'm a wimp about driving... anything outside of like a 10 mile radius and I'm too lazy!!).

Do you work at Sprinkles? Sounds like it...so tell them that said cupcakes are a smidge dry and overpriced for me.
OP, I would recommend that you stop by The Cake Guys for happy hour where cupcakes are $1 each and to.die.for. I don't work there, but their cupcakes (and cake) is pretty effing awesome regardless.

I think nationally speaking, she is right for reputation. Every bakery has its on and off dates. I have tried Society and Cupcakery as well now, and still prefer sprinkles (minus the candy dots Amanda brought up)

I mean, everyone has heard of Sprinkles, and really I've never heard bad things (except for this thread), so I would say that's good. And their shops are plastered with articles proclaiming their superiority.

I don't think that saying that Sprinkles was the first 'cupcakery' really holds any water...White Castle was the first fast-food hamburger chain, and I think WC is really, really terrible. Others have their own opinions, but to say that they are the first and THEREFORE the best is a pretty weak argument.

The Cupcakery is amazing as well, I suggest the Orange Julius or Southern Belle.

Good reputation, bad reputation - they have the biggest regardless of if it is bad or good :P I meant they are just the most well known/associated with cupcakes nationwide in comparison to others :P

Another vote for Society and against Sprinkles. Sprinkles cupcakes are way too dry, and I feel like the only "flavoring" they use is 1,000 lbs. of sugar.
