I know when my FI and I have to apply for our marriage certificate I have to put down what my new surname (if I choose to change it - which I do) is going to be, but if I change my name on the marriage certificate does that mean my name is automatically legally changed right after the ceremony? I'm asking because my FI and I already booked our HM and I booked it under my maiden name, but I know my name will have to be same on the plane tickets/reservations as it is on my IDs, etc. Can I change my name on the marriage certificate, but wait to change all my IDs? How does all this work exactly. I'm obviously a little confused. Thanks in advance for your help.
