Where Should I go Dress Shopping?

Hi Ladies,

Where should I go dress shopping in the metro-detroit area? My budget is $1,000 and I am bringing a group of people with me (more people than I want to bring, but everyone wants to be a part of it).  I want to find a place that has a lot of dresses within my price range, but will give a good experience and have room for my mom, FI's mom, and our sisters.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Ashley

Brides by Demetrios in Troy is where I bought my dress and I have had wonderful experiences (picking out the dress, trying it on when it came in, first and second fittings)

Check out the vendor stickies at the top of the board.  Where people bought their dresses was one of the categories as was the price.

Im a huge fan of something blue in Holly. They have a huge area for you to try on dresses in.I think she actually rents it out for day of weddings too. She has a FB page if you want to check out the dresses she has.

I went to Bella Bridal in West Bloomfield. I was surprised at how spacious it was compared to a few others I'd been in.

Arena Bridal is fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. Lots of dresses to choose from. Also try Bella Bridal in West Bloomfield....they were great too, but make sure you make an appointment first! Bella will not help you without an appointment!  Just a word of caution when bringing lots of people with you to help you find your 'dream dress'. I think it is much easier to just bring one or two people.........just saying!

Blagas in Sterling Heights. If you make an appointment you will have the whole place to yourself. They give great deals and discounts, and will make sure that you find what you want in your budget. I had a 1,000 budget and actually stayed under $900 - with alterations! Two of my friends and others I know have also purchased here. I had a great experience, could not say more about Blagas.

I agree - shop with one or two people, especially to start. A large group is way too overwhelming! I started out that way and ended up very frustrated and confused! If the store is honest, the people at the bridal stores are going to give you the best advice anyways.

I liked Dior Bridal in Dearborn and also Arena bridal. I've also heard good things about Bella Rose in Shelby Township.

I feel really stupid, but where are these vendor stickies that ppl keep talking about?? Is it the Local Vendor tab @ the top?

Bella Rose Bridal on hayes @ 22 mile. I got my gown there and they are wonderful people. family owned and operated and they couldnt be sweete! I went to Arean (which was mentioned before) and had  HORRIBLE experiance. They do NOT like large groups and they do NOT like kids. *also, even if you buy your gown and your bm dresses there, they do not do alterations for your bms*

A small note on Arena... The ppl the refer to you for alterations are TERRIBLE as well! We got our bridesmaids dress there and I wish we never would of. The service was bad.

Thanks everyone! I went to Demetrios and it was amazing... the dress I fell in love with is $1200 though :(  I'm going to try Arena and Nicole Michael in Shelby Township this weekend. Wish me luck!
