Can't decide on bridesmaid dresses

I am having a difficult time deciding on bridesmaids dresses.  My issue is that I have 6 bridesmaid, of which 5 of them are plus size.  Every store I go into the largest size they have is a 12.  Therefore I can't see how fitting the dresses will be on all the girls.  I think I have it narrowed down to three but was hoping you ladies could give some advice on how these dresses may look on my bridesmaids.  My wedding colors are black, red, and white.  I look forward to hearing everyone's opinion.  Below are the pictures.  (I am leaning toward the 3rd one because I love the sash).

Re: Can't decide on bridesmaid dresses

  • I like the first and the third a lot. If they are short waisted and/or a bit thicker in the middle, the sash may make them look wide and/or short (particularly if it's going to be a lighter sash on a dark background, as pictured.
  • I say #3.  Black as a main color will be much more flattering on all body types than the dress color in #1, imo.  Dress 2 is too much, imo
  • #3, same reasons as md.
  • What about having different styles in your color palette that compliment each body type?

  • I want all my bridesmaids to be in the same dress.  That is just what I like.  I was going to put my maid of honor in black & white and the other girls in black & red.  Black being the main dress color for all.  Than I was going to do all red flowers.  Thanks for your opinions!

It looks like your choices are all satin or satin-like.  I would be very careful about putting them into satin.  Satin shows a lot of It things some girls might want to hide.  Maybe take a look at materials that are a little more flowy.

    Solid black is very flattering.

  • I'd ask them which is their favorite - they know their bodys best. I can usually tell how I'm going to feel in something just by looking at it.
