  • If it weren't a 10 hr flight away from my family, I'd love Hawaii. I just don't know how I feel about being so isolated from everything. That and $8 gallons of milk would get annoying (among other high priced shiit there).

H and I have been entertaining thoughts of one day moving to Hawaii or the west coast, CA likely. Of course, this is like 10 or more years in the future unless something major happens, but still. I could see it happening. Neither one of us are happy here in Jax.

I told H I'll move with him wherever he wants, so long as it doesn't snow in the winter.

I personally don't get ones without applicators, seems like way too much fuss to me. I do prefer playtex over tampax applicators though.

Yeah and the little plastic part on some is so thin I find it hard to push it in to the tampon part (unless i am doing it wrong LOL). And the placement never feels right with me. I dunno, ive been an OB girl since day one and I hate having to borrow tampons cause everyone else seems to use applicators.
  • I'm all about tampons with applicators.
    image
  • I don't get why OB tampons expand outwards for me and all the rest expand lengthwise. Hence why I only use OB. I got over the 'no applicator' issue a long time ago.

Also, a friend of DHs said that she didn't start using tampons til university. OMG. I started the second month I had it. I mean, I get it, clearly pads didn't bother her. But I couldn't stand them.

[QUOTE]I don't get door to door soliciting. We've had two in the last two weeks. Both selling magazine subscriptions and books. How come I have to buy a book/magazine that is way overpriced and I don't want in order to give to your cause? <div>Before H got his current job, he interviewed for a job for door to door soliciting, but just in offices and such. He was going to be selling office supplies or something. He went to the interview, and it turned out to be a day with the guy doing the job. He had to go with the guy to all these different stores and restuarants. H came home and said there was no way he was going to do it. Luckily he found his current job, because he would have been miserable doing it.</div>

    This.  They're just so...wasteful.
  • I don't get tampons at all. But mostly because I can't wear them.
  • I remember all my girlfriends in university being like 'ew...you don't use an applicator'. I remember thinking that I hope they don't have natural births, because if they can't handle pushing a piece of cotton up there I don't think they can handle what might one day come out.

Well her mother was a single teen mom and had 3 kids with 3 different fathers, she grew up on welfare and in public housing.  She got pregnant when we were in 11th grade with the first one.  She lives in public housing now and is on welfare.  Her sister has 2 kids with 2 different father and lives in the same housing project as she does (so does mom).

    Vicious cycle and all that.

This is EXACTLY how I feel when people tell me they can't believe I don't use an applicator.
  • I just can't make the non-applicator tampons work properly. I feel like the positioning is always wrong or something, and can always feel them. I think it's just user error...lol.
  • I don't think there is anything wrong about a non-applicator tampon, I just like having them there. I don't see whats so "omg gross" about it, I mean, either way I'd hope you'd wash your hands after dealing with your ladyshow.

Me neither.  The one time I tried it, it took for fucking ever to get it in.  With applicators they just slide right in - bam, you're done.

  • I don't think the issue is pushing a piece of cotton up there.  I am totally fine with that.  I like the applicator because of the fact that I don't have to put my hands down there during that.  I'll take my plastic Playtex teeth please.
