  I think it would really depend on the size of the wedding and if you want a place that would be able to have a plan in place incase of rain. The first place I would really suggest would be Aldridge Gardens, http://aldridgegardens.com/rentals/getmarried.html , there are locations within the gardens that do not look overly manicured, the lake is beautiful year round and they have a beautiful outdoor pavilion. Second place, my personal favorite, Little River Canyon National Preserve, http://www.nps.gov/liri/index.htm , or Desoto State Park, http://alapark.com/DeSotoResort/Weddings/ . Inside of Little River Canyon National Preserve is the canyon is one of the deepest in the southeast and has 600 foot sandstone cliffs. It's breath taking and would make for an amazing wedding venue but if the canyon wouldn't work then I would try Desoto State Park. Both parks are located in the Fort Payne area which is about 1 hour and 32 minutes from downtown Birmingham. I know this might not be a good suggestion but there's Morgan Creek is an amazing winery just south of Birmingham and it's very beautiful too.

  Have you looked at Vizzini farms and winery. It's in Calera, Al.
