Invitations Question

Hi everyone,

Our vistaprint invitations arrived yesterday (for those looking for budget invites---they look great, invite+matching envelopes+ matching response cards & plain envelopes--200 for $230 with the 25% off coupon! An amazing deal)

Now I'm thinking about addressing them.  There are three budget friendly basic options that I see and I'm wondering your opinions.  I have 150 to address.

1.  My #1 choice would be to use labels for each household, probably with a pretty italic/caligraphic font.  But, my concern is...is this tacky?

2.  I could hand write them.  To be budget friendly, I am not hiring a calligrapher, so it would be my decent but not awesome handwriting.

3.  I could feed each one individually into our printer and print them that way. I know that would look beautiful...but it would take a LONG time to do so many, so I'm less excited about it.

Basically, is option #1 tacky or is it OK if invitations are something we want to look nice but aren't overly concerned about?

Thanks so much!

Personally I am planning on option #1 as well, using clear labels and a very nice font.  I don't really think its that tacky if you take the time to address everyone correctly (ie full names, Benjamin vs. Ben) and use a font that look pleasent.

If you are really unsure though, test one through your printer, see if you like that more once its in the finished state.

Personally, I think a clear label in a nice font is perfectly fine. I can't remember the envelopes of any wedding invitation I've ever received and let's be honest, I doubt there is anyone who scrutinizes envelopes (except maybe people planning their own weddings!) So I think it's just up to you to decide what look you guys prefer.  I don't think a label is tacky, per se, and I wouldn't think it would offend any of your guests.
    good luck!

We got an invite in th mail the past month that had clear label with nice font.  I thought it was sorta tacky, but that's only because I'm planning our wedding and had heard that you are supposed to hand write all your envelopes.   Had I not been planning I woulda thought it was really nice.

Bimbi - this was a black envelope with clear label with black writing and it worked...we got ours in the mail...

Thanks everyone! Clear labels it is.

With Vistaprint, I ordered address labels a while back and when you order something, they send you 25% off everything in your next order--it's a deal that comes in the package in the mail. So, you can order something for $5...and save a ton later on.

Vistaprint also often has deals directly on their website (that's how I got the address labels)....if invites aren't listed, then I recommend doing what I did above:)

Another note on inexpensive invites--Target's invites are on sale this week and they are quite nice and very inexpensive! In the stationary section...

I am also going to do the wrap-around labels!  I think they're so cute and easy!  The fun part should be cutting them out.. Undecided

EmilyKathleen- did you just get the white envelopes from vistaprint?  How do they look? I'm worried about them looking cheap.  Although, they are free, so I suppose I can always go splurge on nicer ones somewhere!
