[QUOTE]In Response to Re: I'm not over-reacting, this is totally tacky, right?? : Yes, please send them to London, KY.  They can help clean up the tornado damage in that area.  Sort of 'mission' trip.

  • I honestly can't believe your cousin did this, it's BEYOND rude. But I do think, that it's petty to do something snarky back. I'd ignore the text and take the high road and get them something (small) off their registry.

[QUOTE]Pick your exotic honeymoon destination, all within the wonderful state of Maine.  Naples is actually a great little town on a lake where my family has been spending part of the summer for longer than I've been alive.

Hey! I grew up near there (Naples AND the sign post)!
  • Wow. Some people are absoloutely absurd. I cant imagine ever asking for a gift that was that ridiculous (much less asking for a specific gift, at all.)

  • Screw giving them a nice wedding card. I'd be more tempted to fold a sheet of computer paper and write, crappily, CONGRATS on the inside....and maybe put it on the ground and drive over it a few times....

Not seriously. But it'd be fun to watch the reaction :)

  • I love that people with 18 and 50 total posts understood me immediately but people with over 1,000 are elbow-deep trying to pull their panties out of their buttcracks because of my $10 bill suggestion.

Yes, the conclusion many of you finally reached is correct -- just like leaving a two-penny tip for crappy service is actually more insulting than leaving nothing, a $10 bill for people who requested plane tickets is more insulting than an empty wedding card.

Now back to your regularly scheduled clenching.
  • Someone needs to tell him this is rude. Can you talk to your aunt or uncle (his parents) and have them share the info with him? I am sure (or at least hope) they would be embarassed to find out he is doing this.
  • I wouldn't even give them a card.

  • Maybe yor dad can find a musical card that plays, "I'm a leaving, on a jet plane..."
  • Everytime I unintentionally do something rude or tacky, I'm going to come to this thread to feel better about myself.

    Seriously though, that's terrible.
